Currently, America is facing various hardships such as struggling economy, poor health care, two wars, pollution, excessive relying on exported oil and illegal immigration. Both Barack Obama and John McCain expressed in the campaigns their points of views and possible solutions for these problems. Obama, the candidate from the Democratic Party, proposed answers on improvements on situation in the United States.
One of the major issues nowadays is the health care. There are many reasons why it is so controversial and needs a lot of attention from the future president. In the past eight years, health insurance prices have grown 3.7 times faster than wages. Many insurance plans do not cover a number of doctor’s visits. In addition to that,

Because most of the medical records are stored on paper, they may be difficult to use. Obama wants to invest $10 million a year to make the system shift to electronic-kept records. According to him, it will save up to $77 million due to decrease in the amount of lost documents or test records.
2) Lowering the costs of insurances. Obama believes it is important to get rid of the excessive subsidies to Medicare Advantage plans because the government paid to much money for this program. Because drugs are extremely expensive in the US, he will also allow the purchase medicines from other developed countries if the drugs are safe and the prices are lower.
3) Reducing the costs for employers and their employees.
“For small businesses, having a single employee with catastrophic expenditures can make insurance unaffordable to all of the workers in the firm. The Obama plan would reimburse employer health plans for a portion of the catastrophic costs they incur above a threshold if they guarantee such savings are used to reduce the costs of workers’ premiums.”
