Greek Mythology There are many stories of how greek gods and goddesses were created. “The Theogony includes the most important Greek myth--the myth that describes the origin and history of the gods.” (Mythology). These myths all tell the god and the goddess creation story. The first part of the myth is how the world began. The first thing that existed was that “the universe began in a state of emptiness called Chaos.” (Mythology). Then Gaea rose from Chaos and became Earth. Immediately she gave birth to Uranus, who became king of the sky. Gaea then had children with Uranus, and they became the Titans.
Greek mythology was created to explain the creation of the Earth and how life on Earth came to be, these could be called creation myths. Gaia the goddess of the Earth gave birth to Uranus, the sky. The both of them became husband and wife. Gaia gave
Greek mythology is one of the coolest things anyone could think of. The ideas of gods and goddesses coming down to earth to interact with the human race, is quite an amazing thing. In many cultures, gods are very important. The ancient greek culture is an example where mythology is very important to the people, the gods are everywhere in daily life. Yet with the made up mythology, they needed a place to begin with and the greeks are no exception, but the story of the gods beginning is very interesting.
Knowing about the Greek gods can be intresting. You can get to know things that you have not heard about them. Like the abilities the have, or the things they fight for. Some gods fight for honor, and some fight for power. Three important gods in Greek mythology are Zeus, Anthena, and Appollo.
The creation of the gods starts with chaos and from the chaos came the endless gods: Eros, Tartarus, and Gaea (Love, hell, and the earth). Gaea created Uranus, the first ruler of the sky and Eros
The Greek Civilization was one of the greatest ancient civilizations to spring up. Though it faced many trials and tribulations, the ancient Greeks were a center of trade, economic development, and technological advancements. The success of the Greeks to construct such a flourishing culture was largely due to the area in which their civilization was located.
The Greek gods were starting to get believed in by the Greeks between 1700 and 1100 B.C. in Greece. The first gods were Uranus (Father Sky) and Gaia (Mother earth). The first Olympian was Hestia. There are twelve major Olympians including Zeus, Poseidon, Hephaestus and ECT. A lot of things are named after a god. For example Athens, the capital of Greece. Athens was named after Athena. Every god has a power for a different aspect of life. There is a god of storms, a god of death, god of love and ECT. The Gods were honored in many different ways like temples and gifts. Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades were the three gods that ruled the universe.
Apollo, God of Music, was the twin brother of Artemis. Apollo was known as the Archer and the God of healing, light, and truth. He is often shown playing a golden lyre. One of Apollo’s most important tasks was harnessing his four-horse chariot in order to move the Sun across the Sky. Apollo was the prophetic deity in the Oracle in Delphi, and people would travel from all over the world to hear their future and its treasures. Although he was the God of healing, Apollo could also bring plague and disease with his arrows. His holy tree was the laurel, and holy animal was the
The Greek goddesses have been a popular choice of costume for Halloween and other costume parties. Many ladies dress up as their favorite Greek goddess. Some couples even dress up as one of the most famous Greek god and goddess couples ever known in history. Surely, anyone who dresses up as a deity receives a significant number of compliment from the crowd.
Greek Mythology, used to explain the unknown. The Greeks never had the technology to discover why things happened the way they did. For that reason, they would believe in stories about Gods and Goddesses that determined their everyday lives. They would worship and sacrifice living beings to show their respect for the Gods. Over time, they developed the story of how the world was created, their main Gods and Goddesses, and traditions and rituals.

Civilizations refer to the cultural and ethical values that sustain a given society. Each civilization is a cultural entity that brings together a more or less conscious sense of unity, and that groups in its bosom several different nations and individuals. In my opinion, living in either civilization (Greek or Roman) as a women would've been quite difficult. However, if I were to choose between both civilizations, it would definitely be Ancient Greece, as it closely resembles our current one.
In the Ancient Greek world religion was present in all aspects of life. Religion was never far from the mind of an ancient Greek with formal rituals, myths to explain the origins of mankind, temples which dominated the landscapes, city festivals, national sporting and artistic competitions.
Long ago, Artemis and Apollo were twins born by the king of the gods, Zeus, and the Titan goddess, Leto. Artemis became the goddess of the moon, and Apollo became the god of the sun. The sun and moon duo rose to take their rightful place amongst the greatest of Olympians. However, twins are not without their disputes, especially when they're major Olympian gods/goddesses and neither of them like any competition for what they're worth. Therefore, Artemis and Apollo had a huge quarrel over whom the mortals relied on most - the sun or the moon. Apollo countered that the sun was essential for all living things, gave energy to Earth, and provided the mortals
Unlike many religions, Greek religion had no particular set of rules to abide by; they had no sacred scripture to rule by and no rule of life to live by. Greek religion was primarily a mixture of old Minoan beliefs, west Asian ideas, and central Asian gods.
