“Why did we trade in our ceremonial lives for the workplace? Is this a natural progression or a hiccup in human civilization that we’ll soon renounce” (Ehrlich 91)? Gretel Ehrlich asks these deep questions in her short informative essay “Chronicles of Ice” (2004). Ehrlich tells of her travels to The World Heritage glacier Perito Moreno, Argentina. In this short narrative, the author uses pathos and strong human related metaphors, to relay the direct correlation between glaciers and the well being of Earth.

The Miracle on Ice is one of the most iconic moments in sports history. The American Ice Hockey team was filled with amateur ice hockey players who stood no chance against the strong Soviets. The olympic win not only shocked the sports world, but renewed the patriotic spirit within the nation as it was a pivotal point in the cold war. With all the economic and political conflicts in the world the Miracle On Ice proved to be more than a game,helping give hope to a nation and help America reclaim itself as the greatest country in the world.

He has won seven awards and has been nominated for many others. Ice cube has accomplished a lot in his life. Ice Cube’s life started off like many others, but after many music opportunities, he has become a famous rapper and musician.

The thesis of the film “Chasing Ice” is to portray the extreme climate change we are facing today. The film has a clear goal of showing visually the danger we are causing our planet by denying climate change. The aim of the film is to show us visually that climate change does exist and it is happening at a rapid rate. The film does a good job at providing evidence that climate change is happening, by capturing footage of the changes occurring over short periods of time. These videos captured by James Balog’s recording devices make it almost impossible to deny climate change and that is precisely the purpose of the film.

Even though some of the links could not found, I still learned some cool and disturbing facts about glaciers. For example, ice bergs are nicknamed "rivers of ice" because they constantly move like rivers but at a much slower pace. Also if the ice bergs keep melting at the rate that they are, sea levels will rise and cause major damage and cause natural disasters like, flooding. Also the freshwater that's stored within the ice bergs would mix into the saltwater and led to a very limited availability of freshwater. One of the most notorious killers to ever live was, for a long time known as, the Iceman. It was later discovered that the identity of the Iceman was a suburban man named Richard Kuklinski. This was truly a shock to Richard’s family, because to the he seemed like a role model father. But not everything is as it seems, Kuklinski claimed to have murdered over 100 people.
