The composer I chose as Orlande de Lassus. Lassus was a renasiance composer. He started composer towards the middle of 1500s but did not stop until the late 1500s. Lassus was born in 1532 in Mons, Belgium. He first started singing as a choirboy. In 1544, Lassus had joined the service of Ferrante Gonzaga. He is the Viceroy of Sicily. He was there for a little less than a year and then he went to Milan for the rest of the 1540s. Lassus then traveled until about 1551 when he was offer choir master at St. John of Lateran in Rome. He was there until 1553, when a guy by the name of Palestrina took over for him. It is truly amazing that he was able to master his craft and become questionably the greatest composer that has ever lived, despite having a condition that would seem to make composing music impossible.
