A Peaceful End to Racism Our world is divided, it has been for centuries. Racially divided, that is. However with modern awakenings and experiences, it is much less segregated than in the past. This is possible because of the sole implication of cultural immersion and exploration. When Europeans venture into Asia or Africans visit South America, they are experiencing cultures and land that is so far from their own, that they are learning new perspectives infinitely. When immigrants come into the United States of America, their whole world is redefined by new views. Transportation and communication breakthroughs are what dissolve racial divisions on an international scale, but we are still seeing racial disunity in America. However the increasing negative publications of it is worrying the progressive United States citizens, while brainwashing others into believing people who immigrated to America are somehow lesser than those born on American soil. This needs to cease, as it’s the same ideology that slave-owners had in the 1800’s against African-Americans and that Nazi’s had during the Holocaust against Jews. Modern America simply cannot repeat this part of history and remain one of the forward-looking leaders of the world at the same time. Doudou Dienne, a U.N. rapporteur lead a study showing that North America (the U.S. and Canada) is a destination for endless immigrants, but that the countries have also acquired "some of the world's most racist and xenophobic ideologies and movements" (Deen). This is a deadly set, as it sets North America up for failure in accordance to treating everyone equally.
