Over time in classrooms when history teachers mentions boycotting and the state of Montgomery, Alabama you may Automatically think about Rosa parks and the event that took place around her time. One of the main events that she is known for is not getting up from a seat on the bus, when she was asked just because of the color of her skin. Martin Luther King Jr, heard about this event that took place. A social movement was then started. African Americans started to boycott public transportation, not only people of color but also whites. Rosa Parks was the main one who helped start the boycotting of public transportation in Montgomery, Alabama. Her and others are very important people who helped during civil rights movement, she is one of the reason why African Americans can sit and go wherever they want just like people who are not of color. Rosa Parks was born as Rosa Louise McCauley, February 4th in 1913, in Tuskegee, Alabama. Rosa parks and her mother leona mcCauley went to go live with her grandparents on their farm when rosa’s parents split up. In her early life she went to a segregated school and all the teachers treated everyone equal but she had to drop out in eleventh grade to take care of her very sick grandmother. She ended up getting a job working in a shirt factory in her area. Rosa parks soon met her husband Raymond parks a few years later. She made a goal to finish out high school and soon met that goal.
