This research is exploratory because the researchers attempt to point out social trends that play a role in becoming a human trafficking victim. It goes beyond the mere description of human trafficking its causes and effects, the information that the researcher provide might be able to prevent the crime. Or at very least, educate potential victims. This is pure research because the researchers want to expand the body of knowledge of human trafficking. There has been substantial research in regards to victims of human trafficking, this particular study lists a few previous research components.
In this eye-opening look at the contemporary American scourge of labor abuse and outright slavery, journalist and author Bowe visits locations in Florida, Oklahoma and the U.S.-owned Pacific island of Saipan, where slavery cases have been brought to light as recently as 2006. There, he talks to affected workers, providing many moving and appalling first-hand accounts. This book deserves the attention of anyone living, working and consuming in America.
“Owners” of Women in human trafficking are beyond brutal. Survivors say they will beat you till you admit something even when you know nothing of the incident. They do not tell the traffickers where they are. If they know where they are they may be able to get help. Traffickers have no rights. 90% of the time they have no cell phone, no contact to family, and are under monderting at all times. They are beaten for not working hard enough. These victims experience abuse that no one should ever have to experience. It is an unimaginable situation that is a reality to too many women. According to the FBI services here is what Human Trafficking means “People are being bought, sold, and smuggled like modern-day slaves, often beaten, starved, and forced to work as prostitutes or to take jobs as migrant domestic, restaurant, or factory worker with little or no pay.” This is a hard situation to think about living in but yet women are forced to.
I'm going to start this presentation off with a story. This story is about a girl named Karla. You see Karla didn't live an ideal life. Karla had been sexually abused by a relative since she was just five years old. When Karla was about twelve years old, she was waiting around a subway station for her friends. An older man approached her and began connecting with her, telling her that he had also been abused as a child. Shortly after, Karla agreed to take a trip with the man. They planned on going to a nearby town, and little did Karla know, she would be making the worst mistake of her life. This amazing man had soon become her worst enemy. As a twelve year old, this man had forced her to have sex with up to thirty men a day, seven days a week, for four years straight. For those of you who didn't do the math, yes, she was essentially raped a total of 43,200 times. In an interview Karla revealed that the men would laugh at her because she was crying. That she had to close her eyes so that she wouldn't see what they were doing to her, so that she wouldn't feel anything.
The human trafficking industry with a net worth of approximately a $150 billion dollar revenue. Two thirds of that profit— $100 billion—comes from commercial sex trafficking (ILO). Up to 50% of those that are trafficked are minors and most humans trafficked are women and girls. It is often intertwined with transnational crime organizations that have connections to certain companies (UNDOC). Many Americans are unaware of that this is happening in their town and often deny it is happening. In 2016, over 4,000 cases of human trafficking was reported in the U.S. and many more were not reported (15). However, international organizations such as the United Nations Drug and Crime division provide hope for victims from their outreach
Human trafficking has been around for centuries across the world. There are multiple forms of human trafficking, from forced labor to sexual exploitation of males and females alike. According to the United Nations Office of Drugs and Crime, the most common form of human trafficking leading at seventy-nine percent is sexual exploitation. Although, it is male and female who both fall victim to this “business”; females are the ones who are most affected. The internet has not made it easy to catch traffickers in the act. In Fact, it allowed them to hide more than ever before behind different identities and websites.
Human Trafficking is the illegal buying and selling of people to either become domestic workers or forced into illegal prostitution. It is also a violation of basic human rights, because the individual has no personal freedom. Women and children are the primary targets for this industry and typically the victims are forced into illegal slave trade. Human trafficking is a violation of human rights and it is among one of the most horrendous crimes against humanity, forced labor and forced prostitution is the common uses for these people that were lured in by traffickers.
The human trafficking trade affects everybody worldwide. The last count was 4.5 million people. Victims are often being abused and forced into sexual exploitations that they cannot escape. Sex trafficking was first introduced as “The movement of people, between and within countries for sex work.” Sex trafficking could also be a way for a refugee to be involved in a sexual act as an order of allowing or organizing their migration. Traffickers often abuse victims through physical and emotional, making them believe that this is the only way to live. If victims think or act otherwise they would die. One tactic that traffickers use on victims is to promise freedom to victims. These victims often bartered for their freedom with prostitution. Traffickers would keep victims’ visa and other identification papers
Sex trafficking is a huge problem within the world today. According to Equality Now, which is an organization that helps to advocate for trafficking, estimates about 20.9 million adults and children are bought and sold worldwide (Global Sex Trafficking). One particular country where this is a problem is Cambodia. Cambodia native Somaly Mam founded Agir Pour les Femmes en Situation Precaire (AFESIP) and cofounded the Somaly Mam Foundation. AFESIP helps sex trafficking victims escape trafficking and emotionally and economically heal while the Somaly Mam Foundation works on a three-step approach: action, advocacy, and awareness (Finley). Together with these two organizations Somaly Mam was able to fight back sex trafficking and help thousands

Human trafficking is a very real problem in the world today. Every minute of every day another human is sold into slavery all around the world. Whether it is to begging in the streets, working in cocoa plantations, dancing, prostitution, smuggling drugs, or house labors. In a modern world where most countries have banned slavery we still find it in our backyards today.

The global aspects of human trafficking as a form of sex trade are important to understand the modern definitions of European terms for these criminal markets. In many ways, the globalization of human trafficking often defines the various forms of “slavery” that have become identified in the modern era. In this manner, the connection between prostitution and the sex trade are often defined through a broader globalized terminology, which defines these issues through the context of capitalist exploitation as a new form of slavery:
Human trafficking is such a neglected topic in this world. Many of us avoid this issue because we do not want to think about this happening to us or any of our close ones or simply because it has never happened to you or anyone you know you do not find the necessity to get informed. Let's start by defining human trafficking, according to the homeland security website, “Human trafficking is modern-day slavery and involves the use of force, fraud, or coercion to obtain some type of labor or commercial sex act.” This tells us there is many ways someone can trick or force another person to do something they do not want to do, being held against their will. My goal is to get more people to help out and spread the word on this neglected issue. Get
The United States seaports and waterways are very vulnerable to terrorist attacks and illegal criminal activities that may disrupt the economy and public safety (Federal Bureau of Investigation, 2006). An attack on one or several of these vital transportation hubs could cripple the U.S. economy and injury or kill hundreds, if not thousands of people.
