What I am thankful for…. November Is one of the best months to think about what you are thankful for. I am thankful that I have food, a caring family, a roof over my head, clothes on my back, good health, friends, and an education The first thing that I am thankful for is that I have food to eat because there are some family’s that do not have food to eat because they can’t afford it. Forty-two percent of the world is starving from world hunger, so that is another reason I should feel blessed that I have food served on my table every day. One time I saw a lady who needs some help with food and clothing outside of stater brothers and I bought her some sandwiches so she could eat. When I gave them to her she was so happy? Another
Every year before I eat the big Thanksgiving meal, I stop and think about what I’m thankful for. My family, friends, and health are important to me.
This Thanksgiving I have many things to be thankful for, and all for good reasons. But I am the most thankful for all the special people in my life because of what they do to help me. I am thankful for the most important people in my life, my family, my teachers, and my friends.
Every year, there is one day dedicated to giving thanks in America. That day is known as Thanksgiving. In the weeks before, families will make plans to get together with relatives, and decide who will bring what food. On the day of, people will spend the morning cooking. Later, the guests arrive and most likely sit down to wait for food, watching football. These actions are just a few examples of what people are thankful for. As for myself, there are many things I am thankful for, to many to remember or even know. But there are a few main things I am very thankful for.
As Thanksgiving is being headed into I have multiple things to be thankful for in my life. I am very fortunate for everything in my existence. Many people don’t have the things I do. Citizens in Kenya and Africa and multiple other places live in small shacks and barely get enough to eat. Plus while we’ll be gorging ourselves tomorrow on this thankful holiday they will still only be getting about one small meal to eat. I’m not only thankful for a good source of food, but I have many other things I have to feel grateful for. One of these things being is my house and yard. I live on a lake which is a huge luxury for some people and I am very fortunate to have this. I also have a large yard filled with things to do. Another group i can be grateful
Far too often in our selfish-minded culture, we forget to be thankful for the many blessings we have. There is a roof over my head, clothes on my back, food on the table, and I've never gone hungry. I'm thankful that I am homeschooled; I do not have to deal with bullies at school and I am able to have a more flexible schedule so that I have an increased amount of free time to spend with family. I am also thankful for my little sister and my parents who care for me and work hard to provide me with everything I need and want. In addition, I feel grateful for my artistic and musical talent. However, most of all, I am deeply grateful for my entire family, the warmth, love, and companionship they bring, and my relationship with
“Give thanks for a little and you will find a lot.” As said in www.verybestquotes.com is a perfect example of why thanksgiving is my favorite holiday, thanksgiving is the day when most people enjoy and appreciate what they have, they get together with family give to others in need like food to eat and many other goods. But the main reason I picked thanksgiving is because of the food, thanksgiving for me is described as all my favorite foods put together into one day. Thanksgiving for me is usually wake up go to twelve clock mass, at one PM we arrive at my grandma’s house at one thirty PM I start to eat and after that it gets scary.
Plantation, where the settlers held a harvest feast after a successful growing season. Autumn or
My favorite memory of thanksgiving was when my family and I had gone to Austin to watch the University of Texas football game. As we sat there in the already cold stands, it started to pour down rain. When I sat there I thought, as most people would, how truly miserable this game was turning out to be. Now when I look back on the memory, though, it turned out to be an amazing night with my family and a good story to tell. These are just a couple of things I am grateful for, but there are so many other blessings in my life. As William Arthur Ward said, “Gratitude can transform common days into thanksgivings, turn routine jobs into joy, and change ordinary opportunities into
One of the most memorable day was last Thanksgiving Day when I flew to New York to my aunt’s house. The first thing we did when got there was to walk around and go shopping for clothes and prizes for the Thanksgiving Day games we had planned to play. The prizes were for whoever won the game
Starting as early as preschool, American children are taught about the national American holiday of Thanksgiving. These small, impressionable humans are taught that the Pilgrims and the Native Americans worked together to produce plentiful crops, then celebrated the completed harvest and friendship with turkey and various pies. As the children grow older they learn that those who attend the first Thanksgiving did not eat “traditional” modern Thanksgiving meal, but more likely ate mussels with curds, deer, and a bowl of thick corn mush. The idea that is feast was in honor of the pilgrim’s friendship with the Natives still sticks around. Many people never question this fact or think about the hardships that the Natives had to go through once people had colonized America. Today there are many
What are you thankful for? With Thanksgiving right around the corner, you start to think about the things that mean the most to you, and how much you appreciate them. I encourage you this Thanksgiving to take your mind off the food and the fun of the Holiday and take time to give thanks for the important things in your life. This Thanksgiving, I am thankful for basketball, oxygen, and food.
Thanksgiving Day all started out, as we all know, when the Pilgrims had their feast with the Indians. Why did the Pilgrims have this feast? In the winter the first year the Pilgrims were in America, they lost half of their colony and had fallen on hard times. Then they found the neighboring Indians who showed them how to plant, fish, and hunt. The next August, harvest time, they had collected a surplus of food that would supply their community through the winter. They decided to have a celebration with the Indians and thank them for all of their help. This meal the Pilgrims and Indians had together is commonly known as the first Thanksgiving. However, there are some things about the history of Thanksgiving Day that I did not know. For example, I did not know that the Pilgrims and the
Thankfully, my parents provide me with three meals a day. My mom always says wasting food is a sin, and I have just started to realize how privileged I am to be able eat whenever I want. I have no idea what I would be like going to bed hungry at night. It is something I know I should be giving thanks for, but i just never imagined that it is a reality that people are starving everyday. I worked this summer with guys who were struggling to put food on their table each night for their family. This has really made me realize that I am very fortunate. I am just now starting to show thanks, because before I just thought it was just a basic right. Now, I am starting to understand how much of a privilege it
This is a story all about the things am thankful for. They are all Enormous things you should be thankful for too.I hope. Like my mom or education and even your friends. Now are you ready to listen.
As I think about the action that I made, it still makes me happy. I didn’t commit this positive act of deviance for myself by any means, I did this because it made me feel great to know that I was helping out someone who really needed it. As I think about how happy this action made her, it makes me wonder how an individual could possibly just ignore someone else’s needs, just to go on with their daily lives as if they never seen
