People come to America in search of opportunity. This county is famous for the notion that no matter who you are, no matter where you come from, you too can be prosperous and successful. However, for a country full of self-made men, finding success proves more difficult than it seems.

Students have debated over whether Early America was a land of opportunity. Early America had aspects in which it was a land of opportunity, and aspects in which it restricted opportunities, when considering politics, economics, and society. A land of opportunity is one that gives equal access to resources to all groups within the US in order to succeed. Although there were ways Early America was a land of opportunity, Early America was not completely a land of opportunity because only predominately white men and the rich were given these opportunities, while other groups had limitations which made it was difficult to earn equal rights and participate in the same practices. In many cases the money is not enough to live off of and some people are forced to get a second or third job that only pays minimum wage causing not enough time for education and without any education they can not move up in their life and they will stay at the same level for there rest of their life’s, it will continue it is an ending cycle in this generations and will be continued in the future.
