I truly believe that this residency program would provide me with the opportunity to further enhance my understanding on patient care and management. I sincerely intend to take full advantage of this program and to use the knowledge I acquire to heal people in need and contribute to the society as whole. Working with the medical students, residents, fellows and attending in the United States has been a terrific experience for me and I sincerely believe this would really help me to adapt to the new working environment in the coming future. My diverse life experiences of working with a variety of patients from a range of economic , social and cultural background in Nepal, have helped me to realize that I possess the determination, skills, resilience
As a recipient of this scholarship, I would like to contribute to the mission of the NHSC by providing an environment where patients feel that they are welcomed, a priority, and receiving high quality healthcare. This is important because the large patient demands found in clinics in underserved areas create an environment where patients receive less face-to-face time with their doctors, provided they get seen at all. Because I have the work ethic and compassion to make a difference in underserved areas, I believe that I would be a helpful addition to any clinic. Bringing caring healthcare professionals into communities will allow more patients to receive quality care as well as impact these areas by allowing everyone to live healthier, more
It is my pleasure to recommend Ms. Cristin Antimisiaris for your residency program. I have been a clinician for years and have been an educator at Sacred Heart University for three years. In my time here at Sacred Heart, I was able to educate Ms. Antimisiaris during her first two years in the program. Throughout Ms. Antimisiaris’ educational experience, she has demonstrated excellent knowledge, clinical reasoning, patient care, and clinical skills as evidenced through her performance both in class and on exams, as well as in hands on and interactive lab activities. Ms. Antimisiaris put great effort into all assignments and class activities, thoroughly researching her topics, providing evidence-based interventional techniques, and asking for guidance or clarification from professors when a topic was unclear. Ms.
It is with great enthusiasm that I recommend Ashraf Abdeljaber, AAMC ID: 13089832 as a promising candidate to the Family Medicine residency program at your institution. I supervised Ashraf during his geriatrics elective rotation at Jackson Park hospital where I got to observe him closely and I have nothing but high praises for him.
Just as the institution is eager to continue embracing the ever-changing world of healthcare and medicine, I too embody this same distinguishing characteristic. Throughout my undergraduate experiences I have learned in order to be a steward and servant of the medical profession one must exercise teamwork, service, empathy, accountability, and optimism; all of which coincide with the tenets that are declared by the Meharry Medical College, School of Medicine culture. Attending this medical school would be one of the greatest rewards for my motivation and persistence. I know for certain there would be no greater experience than to be a part of the Meharry Medical College
“He who has health has hope. And he who has hope, has everything.”- Benjamin Franklin. The decision to pursue a lifetime of service within the Healthcare industry was quite easy for me. After witnessing the importance of having exceptional health care first hand, I want to do everything I can to assist others by ensuring that healthcare policies and procedures are followed properly. Without proper health care, a person can feel lost and hopeless. I believe that an Administrative Fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital will enable me with the necessary tools to plan, direct, communicate, and govern effectively in a health care facility.
Nevertheless, due to the obstacles I face and my father’s health problems, my dream is to become a health care provider. I want to make a positive change in my community, especially for the people who struggle the most. I will make a difference by fighting against injustice, food insecurity,
I am applying to Touro University’s MHS program to advance my medical knowledge and prove I am a worthy candidate for the PA program. Between the ambulance and the emergency room, I have worked in the field of emergency medicine for the past 17 years. To be able to help another person in their worst moments and help turn their situation around is the best part of my job. I want to magnify the impact of my contribution by acquiring the skills and knowledge available in Touro’s Physician Assistant Program.
My career goals have led me to Cedars-Sinai, to a residency program that provides both the academic opportunities and continuity and intimacy of care I desire. Through the program’s academic partnership, I aspire to chase lifelong learning via research and inspire other’s to better the world through education; through its ambulatory experience, I aim to be a voice for the marginalized and to practice within a diverse clinical setting. Most importantly, I wish to train at Cedars-Sinai because I have seen the internists approach care of my family with an empathetic and holistic approach I hope to emulate.
As a PGY-1 resident, my primary goal is to advance my clinical knowledge and critical thinking skills so that I will provide the best possible outcomes to diverse communities. Your residency program would allow me to gain experience and further my knowledge by working as part of an interprofessional team to care for many complex patients. The variety
I am drawn to family medicine by this same appreciation for humanism that is evident to me among practitioners in this field. I am similarly motivated and excited by the intellectual challenges, scope, and meaningfulness offered by a career in family medicine. I strive to join a residency program that will provide rigorous clinical training among a diverse patient population while offering extensive resident responsibility for patient care. I believe that a family medicine residency program will inspire me to excel and arm me with the tools I need to achieve my future goals. Upon completion of residency, I aim to devote myself to serving the underserved while dedicating time to conducting research and participating in community and medical
I am Song V Thao. I am interested in the VA Post Baccalaureate Nurse Residency Trainee Program because I am ambitious to make a real difference and a positive change to people’s lives, especially those who have served for our country. I was born and raised in a refugee camp in Thailand, a crowded place where many refugees lived in poverty without quality healthcare. Growing up as a Hmong woman, I have raised my children through both Hmong traditional healing practices and the western healthcare system. I learned that our society lacks healthcare professionals who would understand both the western healthcare system, and other traditional healing systems. In my community, many people have different perspectives on the western medical practices,
I have learned to utilize my feelings of powerlessness as fuel to nurture my passion for helping people. I want to acquire the knowledge and skills to improve the health of patients, as well as to establish a relationship that expands beyond the scope of physical care. I am confident in my abilities to surpass your program’s expectations and grow to become a competent physician assistant. Whether it is in Vietnam or in another foreign land, it is with absolute certainty that I will continue to assist and care for
I am applying for the Mayo Clinic Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) because of my intrinsic motivation to serve people through the healthcare field, which developed from a very early age. The motivation developed because I had an opportunity to see the miracles research and medicine could do first hand back in Pakistan, as my father was an ENT surgeon. Research wise, classes like Psychobiology and Molecular and Cellular Biology have consistently increased my interest in neurobiology and immunology, and equipped me with the laboratory training needed to perform productive laboratory research. Also being born in Pakistan, a third world country lacking quality health care and through living in a region of the world torn by socioeconomic issues, I have noticed many around the world lack access to healthcare. I aim to change that throughout my life by partnering with organizations like the United States Navy or the Doctors Without Borders, and the attainment of a MD/Ph.D. degree is an essential part of it.
The Resident Officer Program of Elgin (ROPE) was created in May 1991 in Elgin, Illinois. The reason why it was created was to improve the quality of life in neighborhoods that were plagued with crime and violence (Elgin, 2017). The idea behind it was to have law enforcement officers live within the troubled communities free of charge so that there was a constant officer presence as well as to help bridge the gap of distrust between the residents and the police department. The resident officer program is still in existence and Elgin currently has four resident officers (3 males and one female) and has expanded to other parts of Illinois as well as in Texas (Dempsey & Forst, 2016). The status of the program is that is has proven to be very effective in Elgin as well as other locations throughout Illinois and Texas. Rockford, Illinois Police Chief Dan O’Shea is getting the program implemented into his department because as a former officer
I’ve always enjoyed visiting Montreal and look forward to becoming fluent in French. I aim to challenge myself so I can be a well-rounded physician and build long-term relationships with my patients. I will bring my determination to work hard, responsibility and be a team player in your residency program. Family medicine is right for me because it encompasses several areas in medicine and lifelong learning making it an exciting profession with new challenges to face every
