1.1 Explain the features of effective team performance Tuckman (1965) suggests that understanding is required in order for teams to reach maturity. Tuckman phases of team development are:
Leadership experiences can come in a variety of ways. From holding an executive position to leading a subcommittee of a student organization, leadership opportunities exist in many ways at the University of Georgia. My leadership consist of experiences that are not typically thought of when leadership is considered. Through my experiences, I learned that serving others is to genuinely lead in my positions as a resident assistant and an IMPACT site-leader.
The credential professional I interviewed was Heather Romero who is a Patient Care Coordinator at Lovelace Hospital. I am very interested in holding a position as a Patient Care Coordinator after graduation. After interviewing this individual I am eager to pursue this as a career path and feel it would be a good fit for me in the future. I am also thinking of changing my major to Nursing because the degree I am pursing right now might not be a good fit for a Patient Care Coordinator. I have prepared ten questions that I wanted to ask Heather Romero about the healthcare field I was interested in.
Human Service Administration Author Institution St. Jude children’s Research Hospital What is the name of your organization? What year was the agency founded? I would like to focus on one non-profit organization that has been doing very well in the recent years. The name of the organization is St Jude Research Hospital, which deals with the cure and treatment of children suffering from catastrophic diseases. In the five decades, it has been operational, the mortality rate has gradually reduced therefore saving lots of lives. St Jude started its operations in 1962. Danny Thomas was the one who started the organization and was helped by two other close friends (Pui, Pei, Pappo, Howard, Cheng, Sandlund and Gajjar, 2012).
As a district physical therapist manager overseeing twelve different facilities, it is important to adhere to the compliance standards and ensure other physical therapists and physical therapist assistances are attaining such standards. In this particular example, it was important that the district manager took responsibility for looking at the audits instead of relying only on the hired auditor. Two red flags were brought to the manager’s attention when reviewing the detailed reports: re-evaluations and modality charges.
Section A – Introduction In my report I am going to demonstrate my understanding of two job roles and how they differ from each other. The first career I would certainly consider doing, the other I am sure I don’t want to do, both careers fall into two sectors both statutory and independent (private). I have chosen to research nursing for the mentally disabled because it is something that I would really contemplate doing as my life long career as I would love to work along with the less fortunate people. The second job I have chosen to look into is key stage one primary school teaching, I chose this because I don’t particularly think that I would like to do it, but I would enjoy to know more about it before ruling this profession
I have always wanted to become a Resident mentor but I was always terrified of the title until now. A resident Assitant has many roles and its primary role is to be a leader to a community. I want to take on that leadership role because I feel I was always meant to do so. I feel I hold many qualities for what it takes to be a resident assistant such as responsibility, determination, patience, and charisma. I love helping people as well as serving as a mentor to those who need me. I want to make a difference in someone's life and educate those who may not know much about the community we live in. I am interested in becoming a resident assistant because I want to meet new people and build a community of individuals who all know each other and
Dear Residency Program Director, It is with great enthusiasm that I recommend Ashraf Abdeljaber, AAMC ID: 13089832 as a promising candidate to the Family Medicine residency program at your institution. I supervised Ashraf during his geriatrics elective rotation at Jackson Park hospital where I got to observe him closely and I have nothing but high praises for him.
The features of effective team performance are set out in Brian Tuckman’s phases of team development theory, ‘Forming, Storming, Norming, Performing.’ This outlines the phases that a team will go through in order to become effective and reach maturity. At the ‘Forming’ stage of team development individual roles and responsibilities are unclear and each member of the team is concerned to avoid conflict with each other. From this point the team will go through the ‘Storming’ phase which is when they start to conflict as individuals put forward ideas which will be challenged by others in a bid to gain power and position over others. After this the ‘Norming’ phase follows and it is at this point that individual roles are defined and accepted
Betsy Radca is currently my managers and she is the only position higher than me that I could eventually move into. Since, I work directly with Betsy every day, I asked her directly and in person if could speak with her regarding information on her type of position in an organization. Betsy has worked for and been the Administrator at the Grand Valley Surgical Center for two and a half years. The questions and responses that evoked the most in-depth response were:
Day & Residential Leaders: It is imperative that you familiarize yourselves with EPIC’s policy and procedures manual as this is the guide in which we reference when topics occur. Both Day Supports and Residential are the heart and pulse of this organization. Without programs, EPIC would dissolve. Hence, as we move forward I will expect each leader to understand and use this tool when engaging in affairs/issues with staff. It is important that you set the tone with your individual teams in a respectable manner to include being transparent, ethical and fair. A program without sound leadership is a program that is deemed to fail. It is important that we are mindful of our tone, cadence and body language, as the way we engage our staff will either aid or hinder your resolution attempts.
Thank you for the opportunity to apply for the position as residential assistant at the University at Albany. After speaking to Angleek, other Reslife employee’s, attending the information meeting at State Quad, and reviewing the job description I strongly believe the Reslife is looking for an enthusiastically versatile applicant that can be relied upon to fully engage with the role, develop professionally in a self-motived manner candidate, is familiar with both leadership and team work. Given these requirements, and my past experiences I am confident that I have the necessary skills to successfully do the job adeptly and preform the expectations discussed above.

Case Manager Interview Case Managers have a challenging job, often dealing with patients, community agencies and facilitating their hospital discharge to the next level of care. They collaborate and communicate with the entire healthcare team and mostly with the patient during the hospitalization process. They act as support for all stakeholders to achieve positive patient outcomes. In this paper, I will be interviewing Ian Mopas, who is a Patient Care Coordinator at Kaiser Permanente in Redwood City about his education, work training, goals, and objectives as a Care Coordinator, and his responsibilities in his organization.
