It is our responsibility as a medical assistant to do our job properly so that the patients won't complain. But, it is a different situation if the patients make a mistake and not us. However, as you said we should remain calm and speak to them nicely. Making sure that they know the correct time and day by explaining them clearly.
It is the goal of all healthcare providers and organizations to provide quality care to all patients without error. The truth is, even healthcare providers make some mistakes. The question is, when an error occurs who is to be held responsible? Is it, the nurse who administered the wrong medication, due to being overworked and lack of staff to help? Or is it the Healthcare Organization (HCO), because they should have fixed the staffing issues. There are so many factors that contribute to an error. I believe each situation should be properly investigated, before placing blame where it should or should not be placed.
As a medical assistant I can make a patient with a skin disorder feel more comfortable by allowing the patient to tell me what they are willing to do. I would not overstep my boundaries by pushing a patient to do something that they are not comfortable with. Although if the doctor is recommending that a patient needs to show more skin than they are used to, I as the medical assistant will tell the patient why it is advised and why they should corporate. If the patient still does not want to do it, I will simply note it in their chart and let the doctor handle the situation from then on.
There’s also non-maleficence, which basically means, ‘Do no harm’. The physician assistant must aim at producing a net benefit over harm. 6 If Sally decides not to treat the abusive patient, which is simply abandoning the patient, then she is doing harm. Ignoring the patient’s needs is an act of negligence, which will probably cause the patient’s condition to worsen. Sally must act accordingly with the Deontological view 7, which requires her to do her duty as a medical provider to treat the patient no matter what he does. This requires Sally to show the virtue of compassion as she is trying to provide care even to the most abusive, noncompliant, dishonest patients. This act will also satisfy some of the competencies a physician assistant must uphold: Commitment, dedication and self-regulation.
Call for help immediatly, than ask the patient question like , where is the pain coming from and how much pain is the patient is in.Observe the patient and hear the patient for his breathing. The patient can be having a heart attack or angina. If its angina they can take aspirin until help comes. Lay the patient down and make sure the patient is as comberable as possiable. Then keep checking the patients vitals signs til helps arrive. If patient becomes unconscious you will have to do CPR until help arrives ( Heller,2013).
The enactment of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) in 2010 brought many changes to the United States health care system. Many Americans that did not have health coverage were finally able to acquire a health plan. Unfortunately, the increased influx of patients with new health coverage affected the clinician-to-population ratio. In addition, aging Baby Boomers have worsened the problem of an overflowing patient population. Currently, the United States faces a shortage of clinicians. Physician assistants (PAs), are licensed health professionals trained under a medical education model that can effectively fill the shortage of clinicians in the nation by providing health services and accommodating the imminent influx of patients.
Medical assistants usually do not preform medical coding as a regular part of their job. When entering codes it is important that you enter the correct one. If you enter the wrong code the patient could get billed for a service that they did not receive.
Physician assistant’s scope of practice is defined by the level of education, experience, state laws, facility policies and the supervising physician’s delegations. PAs work as a team with the supervising physician and they support the physician’s scope of practice. Since the physician assistants are also educated in the medical model, PAs also practice with physicians in every specialty and setting.
The role of a physician assistant was created specifically to help adjust for the shortages of physicians. Unfortunately, these shortages are occurring in underserved communities that need readily available healthcare facilities and employees. Physician assistants, are trained to be able to handle a wide variety of health disease, and with a background in public health physician assistants are able to extend the “one provider, one patient” mentality and focus on the community as a whole. PAs not only treat disease, but they also promote health, decreasing healthcare demand through preventive care. For example, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, has four foundational health principles that align with the type of care that PAs

Even though the medical profession seems to be swamped with choices, you will find it difficult to select one good option for your needs when you actually need to choose one. It means that you need to pre-plan and take appropriate action accordingly that will help you in becoming a successful medical professional.
Duty of care in my own work role is to ensure that my service users are given quality care services always, and that I must follow the codes of practice and policies and practices of my organisation. It is my responsibility to keep my knowledge and understanding up-to-date regarding these policies.
I recently had an issue with another qualified medication aide that was documenting the wrong charts and I immediately reported it to my charge nurse so she could resolve the issue. The charge nurse would either solve the problem the majority of the time or she might refer it to her supervisor.
The healthcare administrator role is to establish policies, ethical code of practices for his employees to follow. These standards and principles of ethics are the behavior from the individual, organizational, and social view. Which is to make decision not just on organization standards, but also on ethically appropriate. Furthermore, the Christian manager will apply his spiritual code of ethics which is the word of God. Written in chapter five in the book of Matthew the code of Beatitudes, “Blessed are merciful, for they will shown mercy” (Matthew 5:7 NIV).
Math was never easy for me. I have only had a grade higher than a C and that was in 1st semester algebra-2. Every other year I had a C or lower. Math has a huge part of being a Medical Assistant. If you make a mistake you can harm a patient or probably kill them. It that happens, then you can lose your job and your
Health administration professionals work to administer, lead and manage healthcare systems, such as hospitals, hospital networks or large healthcare systems. These dedicated individuals work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure that patients receive the best possible care. They also administer programs that teach healthy lifestyle habits and prevention of disease and illness, in the hopes of promoting a healthier overall community.According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, those in healthcare administration can expect job growth of 23 percent from 2012 to 2022, which is much higher than the average for all occupations. Much of this growth is expected to stem from a healthcare system that will see increased demand from an aging baby boomer population, as well as technology that allows patients to live longer lives.
