Job Rewards Analysis Organizations that reward employee performance receive a return on investment (ROI) through greater customer satisfaction, less turnover, and employee moral (Reed & Bogardus, 2012). Studies show high-performing companies put much emphasis on total rewards to attract and retain the best talent in the industry (Ramona & Anca, 2013); this is why the collection and analysis of job reward data are crucial to the success of organizations. “Price is what you pay. Human resource management (HRM) should identify the objective of the research prior to initiating the method or methods to ensure maximum use of funds and resources. Surveys are simple to distribute online, through internal mailing systems or home delivery and are less expensive to administer (Heneman III et al., 2012). However, the potential to expand on responses is nonexistent because most often surveys are anonymous for the potential of full disclosure (Heneman III et al., 2012). Offering a comments section throughout the questionnaire or at the end of the form enables the employee to explain responses in detail or submit suggestions for improvement. A survey also eliminates the need for an interviewer, which cuts the cost of survey implementation. Interviews are more extensive and provide the opportunity to dive further into an employee’s answer to a question. The interviewer must have training and skills to complete the task and have a structure in place before sitting with the first staff member (Heneman III et al., 2012). The assessor must ask the same questions to each employee to acquire the desired data for the analysis and matrix. The questions need to be clear and concise to avoid ambiguity and confusion.
