Very soon after President Barack Obama took office, he made great strides in the global community that would lead many to associate him as a globalizer. Over the course of his first term, President Obama made strides to ease tensions with Russia, strengthen our partnerships with Europe, and create new peaceful alliances with the Middle East. Many would argue that he didn’t succeed at his attempts, yet the fact is that President Obama did indeed use very strong rhetoric to try and create a stronger global society. In a speech entitled “A New Beginning”, that President Obama gave during his first tour of the Middle East; he says that in order for us to move forward, we must focus on commonalities instead of differences (Obama). In his speech, President Obama acknowledges that America must strive to increase its own economic standing (House). The President claims that America is already making strides towards creating a strong economic influence, claiming that business leaders now say America is the best place to invest in the world .The first thing the President argues for in order to build our economic standing further is to create energy independence, whether through the development of domestic natural gasses or more importantly the development of green energy such as solar power. The second thing that America must do is to reform the tax code to close loopholes in order to incentivize corporations to hire Americans instead of outsourcing. He also acknowledges that immigration allows for new people to have the opportunity to study in our educational system, become entrepreneurs and inventers, and to contribute in numerous ways to the American …show more content…

As America’s economy begins to pick up, our exporting also begins to become the highest that it ever has been. America has worked with the Afghan people so their army can now stand on its own. President Obama speaks of steps and strides that America has taken in order to foster peace between Palestine and Israel. America has begun to increase the availability of electricity in Africa, strengthen our alliance with Europe, foster democracies around the world, and create new economic ties with various countries (House). The President acknowledges that America has accomplished great things, but calls on her to continue to make progress. He calls for her to build a better future for the world by increasing global understand, building cooperation, crafting markets, and freeing people groups all over the world
