Rhetoric writing and presenting would not be created without body language, as body language was created first and is the main aspect of the rhetoric style. Body language isn't superior to that of rhetoric styling, written or presented. Body language shares about a personal liking to the topic, their emotions, and how much they are invested in the matter. No matter how sophisticated or someone is in writing or talking, without good body language, it can not show the true confidence and care for their talking point. The rhetorical technique is the way of using language effectively and persuasively, spoken or written. This technique includes body language, so without body language, someone may just be using sophisticated words, but not have any true meaning expressed to the matter. Body language shows when a person is confident by the way they look, someone who is standing tall, loud and clear voice, someone who looks like they belong to be there and speak their mind. Body language can also depict someone who is nervous, nervous wispy voice, hunched over, arms crossed, and not fluent in what they are saying. Rhetorically, someone can hide behind a screen or piece of paper and show their mask of who other people think they are in the way they write. Rhetoric is language or image that is designed to have an effective speaking or writing on its audience. There are many examples of where you can see or hear rhetoric on a daily basis. One place you can find these rhetorics are on your social media apps or websites. For instance, in the article “Backpacks vs Briefcases: Steps toward Rhetorical Analysis” Carroll gives an example saying, “...a Facebook group asks you to support health care reform. These stories, which are often heart-wrenching, use emotion to persuade you - also called pathos” (47).
Until now, people all over the world use of rhetoric in many situations. We use of rhetoric to write an essay, a letter to friend, or persuade a member in family. If people know how to use rhetoric correctly in every situation, it could bring a lot of power to the receivers. Based on Dr. William, the rhetoric refers to “the study of the art of persuasion”, and it has three elements “rhetorical appeals”: Ethos, Pathos, and Logos. According to Merriam-Webster Dictionary, rhetoric is defined as “the art of speaking as a means of communication or persuasion”. In other words, rhetoric is the way a speaker convinces an audience to approach a given issue from a preferred perspective. Speakers may utilize the following appeals to win the audience's favor: ethos, logos, and pathos. Ethos refers to the speakers incorporation of the audience’s ethical responsibilities. One time, I was sitting at a concert wondering when the band will walk out on stage. Suddenly, the lights went off and a piano began playing a set of chords. Seconds later, two guitar players joined the piano playing the same melody, causing the crowd to rise in excitement. Body language definitely plays a big role in influencing communication, by observing body language alone it makes it easy for you toidentify whether somebody shows interest or puts value in what you are saying. It also allows you to make pre judgements about an individual. For instance an audience or an individual can perceive a speaker/someone as arrogant based on the body language he makes and not the content. While the audience and the rhetor are very important in a rhetorical situation because they are the people involved in the discourse; the more important parts of a rhetorical situation are the way either constraints or exigence are used to get your point across.
