These people pushed me to be the best version of myself that i could become. Out of a class of twenty five that started this program only ten of us advance. Rio salado provided the tools for me to acheive my goals they also opened my eyes to a positive atmoshers of teacher student teamwork that i never saw or felt before . i felt at ease with my teachers and a sense of sinceer aproach when it came to teaching. This course has taught me more than just math or writing skills this course taught me leadership, teamwork, and responsibility. If i were to have taken courses at any other college i doubt the experince would be so familiar. This program has shown me how college work and to take my clesses very seriously. A college education is what i am striving to receive today i am one step closer to that dream. I can honestly say without this program i do not know where i would be . i am very grateful to the ged classe, rios scholarship , and staff for giving me the opportunity to make my family proud, mold me into who i am today , and for beleiving in me none the
But I tell you, don’t be angry with anyone. If you are angry with others, you will be judged. And if you insult someone, you will be judged by the high court. And if you call someone a fool, you will be in danger of the fire of hell. “So, what if you are offering your gift at the altar and remember that someone has something against you? Leave your gift there and go make peace with that person. - Matthew 5:22-24
Through this program I learned a lot of leadership and teamwork skills. EAMC highly encourages its staff to be leaders for team members to provide the best possible healthcare to its patients. During My first year of volunteering, I had great leaders and team members that helped me learn all of the aspects associated with being a TAV. When our leaders graduated, I in turn had to take on the role and help all the new members learn their jobs throughout the hospital. EAMC believes in high quality patient care and as volunteers it was our job to make sure that we also meet their patients needs in a responsible manner. I learned a lot of leadership skills throughout my years of volunteering and teaching new members our jobs roles as well as picking up teamwork skills needed in making healthcare at EAMC the best it can be. I believe I can bring my work ethic and dedication to Auburn’s campus and help lead engineers to be the leaders in our world while being one
In the beginning, I was not completely sure if this was what I wanted to do in life, but over time I became more confident in this grand goal and more confident in myself. Each course would teach me something new about education and about me personally. I am thankful for every educator who helped me along the way and showed me that I am not wasting my time with these classes and with this profession as a whole. My target is in sight and with a little more work, I will be making a change like I always dreamed. Every course I complete is another piece of a dignified puzzle and I am proud of the pieces I have gathered so
A great impact that I witnessed that year is when I took the school field trip to numerous colleges close to the city. I had never been to a university or even a community college. Therefore, me going to those visit gave me a greater idea on what type of college I'd like to attend. One of the colleges I remembered we toured to was Lakeland Community College. I really liked the aspects that it has, with the classrooms even the on campus living. Taking trip like that sets your mind up but also prepares you to know what to expect and look for when you are college searching.
It taught me how to be a leader. As I went through each step of the senior project,
Changing who you are right now into who you want to be in the future is hard to comprehend. Especially as a high school student, our careers may still be uncertain. It’s undeniable though, that a big part of who you want to be is shaped by being in FBLA. Just being here at the state conference is evidence of the impact. Hello Illinois FBLA! I’m Neha Arun, and I’m running to be your FBLA state secretary. What comes to your mind when I say FBLA? Is it the conferences or the competitive events? Do you ever think about the business aspect of FBLA? The Business Leader part of FBLA often gets lost in the acronym. However, becoming who you want to be in the future is shaped by your business skills. What you learn by forming business partnerships will help you throughout your life, no matter
When I grow up, foods becomes popular especially processed food. I stayed alive and healthy because of those foods. Although now that I am more knowledgeable about foods, I realize that I do not need those food to survive. What I consumed everyday is very toxic and very unhealthy. When we get a chance to understand more about it, I realize and got inspired that I should go on a Plant-Based Diet. First of all, what is Plant-Based Diet? According to the article from Kaiser called The Plant-based Diet Booklet the author defines this plan as “This eating plan includes lots of plant foods in their whole, unprocessed form, such as vegetables, fruits, beans, lentils, nuts, seeds, whole grains, and small amounts of healthy fats. It does not include
Most of the things I learned from this experience was a sense of purpose, cooperation, and expansion of knowledge dealing with the various forms of discrimination, as well as oppression. As the semester passed, I felt like I was finally advancing towards a career field that fits me. The topic/subject made it to my list of fields I may want to pursue when I attend a University, which is another benefit gained from my class. Like many other high school students, my mind ponders on the thought of what I truly want to pursue in college, so this was a huge step for me. Oakland Community College gave me the opportunity to test the waters and depict an idea of what attending a University may be like, so that is to say how much one can really learn from an experience like mine. Another thing I learned was that not everything can be done at the last minute, the way you imagined it should be. There should be an excessive amount of planning and thought that goes into completing certain assignments and projects, I remember staying up on some nights just to complete two to four essays. As guilty as I am, sometimes working under pressure motivates and builds my energy up. There times when I would try to work on the assignments during my break at my job and even start on the outline of my
As much as 30 percent of Northern California's garlic harvesters are under-aged children. Kids as young as six years old have voted in state-conducted union elections since they qualified as workers.
These programs have helped me in multiple ways in order to help me grow as a student. As you can see, I am qualified to attend this school, and I am going to work hard as a student

My time at ICC has changed my perspective on life and school. Before I started attending community college, I had no sense of responsibility or respect for the education system. During my two years at Itawamba Community College I learned what it means to be a college student, and an adult. I made numerous friends and connections that will last a lifetime. I started my college career off by dual enrolling while finishing my final semester of high school. I went into the two classes expecting to cruise to an easy A, but after my first month realized that college was not a joyride, but a responsibility that I had to take seriously. I buckled down and finished both classes with a A and a B. I started taking classes more seriously and learned the
