Roald Dahl writes a short tale named The Landlady to create suspense and a sense of foreboding while reading. Billy Weaver is looking for a place to stay while he's on his way to a hotel he stops at a bed and breakfast, before he can walk away the sweet old lady stops him. The authors point is to drive the reader to discover the moral of his tale. Throughout the short story, Dahl creates this suspense through many subtle hints that should send young Billy to the next stop.
