Robert Frost was a poet that was born on March 26, 1874, and died on January 29, 1963 (Parini 4). He lived a very influential life, bringing poetry into spheres of culture that it had never been before. Frost had a rebellious attitude, which allowed him to easily deal with the responsibilities that he gained from his continued advancement of poetry. Frost wrote many influential poems, which have shaped the minds of many readers. Poems such as, “The Road Not Taken”, and, “Mending Wall,” are two of his most influential. He is thought of as one of the best poets to ever live, and his work is still admired today. Robert Frost was born in San Francisco in 1874, to parents with an interesting history. Robert’s father, William Frost, lived in New England as a child; but as a worker in the cotton mills, desired to be a soldier fighting for General Robert E. Lee’s army. After failing to do this, William remained a rebel at home. This can be seen by the escapes out of his second story bedroom window after being locked in his room. Robert’s father was very intelligent however. He graduated from Harvard University with honors, even with his heavy drinking and poker playing during his time in college. After graduation, Robert’s father met his wife, Isabelle Moodie, and they moved to San Francisco (Thompson v.1, 1-3). Isabelle Moodie was the opposite of William Frost. She was born into a very wealthy family, and was always a very respected, upper class woman. She was not a rebel like
