Looking back at the first test trial of making the rock candy, there is plenty of room for improvement. To start off I would change the type of jar we are using into a taller, more slender one. This way we are able to see the crystals form better onto the wooden stick, as it was hard to see what was happening when we observed them. After reading the article about the crystals growing in the caves of Mexico, I believe that we can improve the experiment through the temperature. In the article it talks about how the crystals grew into giant sizes due to the temperature being very hot and consistent. So, if we were to put the crystal experiment into something else, it would be a container that will insulate the heat, like a thermos. The thermos
Have you ever ate a Milkyway? They are the best candy bar out of all the candy bars.
In the article "How Candy Conquered America by Lauren Tarshis" and the article “This Cupcake Is Trying to Hurt You by Kristin Lewis" they both talk about candy and how it became so popular and how it is unhealthy. In the first article it says "They removed the chemical flavorings and colors. Big mistake! Loyal customers were furious. sales dropped 35 percent, and the company decided to return to the original formula." (Tarshis 25). In the second article it says "New studies have linked high-sugar diets to a host of other terrifying diseases too--Diabetes, cancer, heart disease, obesity, high blood pressure, and stroke. Sugar may also contribute to depression, tiredness, and learning and memory issues (not so great on the day of a big test).”
21) After all of the solid dissolves, move the flask from the hot plate and allow it cool to room temperature. After a while, crystals should appear in the flask.
Carl Deuker wrote the book, Gym Candy. Although as little as I read, he is my favorite author of all time. I really enjoyed reading this book for a few reasons. For one, I could relate to what Mick, the main character, was experiencing. Throughout Gym Candy, it got my attention by how intense the story would become. I also enjoyed how well Carl Deuker explained certain aspects of the story with great emotion. By reading Gym Candy, I have learned a few life lessons, and this book has made an impact on how I view future occasions.
All Americans have a sweet tooth, especially when it comes to candy! Did you know, that one of America’s top selling candies was made in 1967 in Western Europe? Created by Mars, Inc. the Twix bar was originally called the “Raider.” Mars, Inc. also created some of the other most popular candies. Including Starbursts, M&M’s, Snickers, and more! In 1979 when the candy was finally released to America and other countries of the world, the name was changed to Twix, meaning, “twin biscuits/bix,” because the candy was 2 butter cookies topped with caramel and dipped in milk chocolate. After business started slowing down in the 1990’s, the company decided to release a whole bunch of new flavors. Although there were over 20 new flavors,

Warheads are the King of candy because of the sour punch covering the outside of the candy. For example, self proclaimed world’s best candy expert Willy Warhead stated in a recent tweet that,”The extreme sour coating of the Warhead blows the sour patch kids’ “sour coating” out of the water “ This explains that how sour a candy is can make or break your candy. Also candyland.com made it apparent that “Warheads’ sour level is only rivaled by a spoonful of citric acid.”This shows that
Crystals were collected in a Buchner funnel, washed with alcohol, then ether, then transferred into a sample tube for storage.

Hard Candy is one of those few films that was undeservingly sitting on my Hulu queue for about 4 months until it expired. I like to think that the reason this occurred was because I’ve always been quick to dismissed movies available to stream on Hulu simply because I’ve found that their quality of movies has always been a couple of tiers below the likes of Netflix, HBO Go and even Amazon Instant Video. However after just watching this film I realized that particular reason of why I kept putting it off was completely invalid. For starters going into this film I clearly, doubted Ellen Page’s ability as an actress to go completely off the rails in this film. Being that Hard Candy is a psychological thriller and that I’ve only seen a limited body of work from Page in 3 other films (Inception, X-Men The Last Stand, and Days of Future Past). Of which she obviously was not casted to play as menacing of a character like Hayley Stark in this film.

I am sure we have all seen or heard about taffy. What I would think would come to mind to most people when I would say something regarding taffy might be something concerning saltwater taffy. I love saltwater taffy. It seems that it is not in great supply around here. The only place I know of is somewhere like the cracker barrel. Needless to say I never go to cracker barrel, and it is a little more than I feel comfortable spending on candy. So I find myself resorting to a childhood favorite, laffy taffy. It is sold everywhere, and it is very inexpensive. I really started to like it when I played baseball as a kid. After the game I would always try to pump mom or dad for a few cents to stock up. It never made it home. I would somehow eat my entire entire stockpile. Whoever came up with the idea of putting jokes inside the wrapper is a very rich man. I could not help but to try to unwrap one more. The way the jokes where printed on the wrapper was very smart too. They would put one joke half way on the wrapper so it made me want to know the end of the joke, genius really.

Rock candy is a simple scientific experiment made at home from sugar and water. Rock candy can be made up of different types of sugar. I used pure cane granulated sugar. Rock candy is formed when sugar is dissolved in boiling water and is cooled and placed in a glass jar with the wooden skewer. When the water evaporates the sugar crystal will start to grow overtime. The water and sugar is a saturated solution, meaning that water could only hold sugar if both were very hot. By cooling the water, the sugar comes out of the solution and forms crystals on the skewer and around the glass. The hypothesis for my experiment was that the more sugar you use the more crystals will form. My question is if you add more sugar, will more crystals?
