Dear Members of the Rockland Rotary Club, I am an avid people-watcher. My mother and I would spend hours sitting in restaurants or stores watching the people walk by. We would speculate about why their hair was styled that way or what drove them to wear a leopard print tracksuit, it was harmless and created good memories. Today, as a young adult I am still watching the people around me, but I speculate about more than fashion statements. I wonder about what is taking place chemically and genetically to make the person passing by my table. Instead of getting restraining orders for creepily watching people, I have used the curiosity to discover secrets buried within the human race. Today, I aspire to gain my Ph.D. in Biology in order to
Reflecting on this course over this semester, there have been many lessons learned that will be valuable, as we enter the business world. Our first lesson was to learn to work together, as a team, to prepare a short memo, long memo, letter, and email for use in the business world. This is a lesson that will experience many times as we do our daily work. Punctuation and grammar are so important to present to the client and other organizations that we are professionals. It could mean the loss of a sale or acquiring new business. It’s like dressing for work; looking professional or unprofessional.

McDaniel College had first been created when its first building went up in 1866-1867. The school was the first institution that was south of the Mason-Dixon line and was coeducational. The first name that the school had was Western Maryland. That name originated because the institutions first board chairman (John Smith Wakefield) was president of the railroad, which had been called Western Maryland Railroad. The railroad had run through the college town. McDaniel had been one of forty colleges in the nation to be recognition in the New York Times education writer Loren Pope’s book, “Colleges That Change Lives” ("World Ranking Guide”). The schools colors are green and gold and the mascot is a Green Terror. There are about 1,629 students
The Hallsville Independent School District board meeting was very conductive. An agenda was handed out to everyone present, and it had every point to be made at the meeting neat and organized for everyone to follow. The meeting is mostly open to the public which provides a great way for everyone to feel up to date with what is going on in the school district, and be able to help in any way they can when problems arise. Once the superintendent had finished speaking about who was being recognized, the updated itinerary, and the HISD Education Foundation Report, he closed the meeting from the public. School board meetings benefit the community by letting the people not associated with a job through the school know what is going on in the district.

Being an avid student, excelling in my studies, it’s apparent being in a well-fitting high school is apparent. It took me a while to sort out which school would be accord with my learning-style, until I heard about Indian River Charter High School. Not only is there an outstanding academic system, but there is a strong art program, which important to me personally. I have a strong interest in visual arts, and am an aspiring artist. I have also had a great interest in learning about the world and different cultures. My favorite things to learn among this topic is languages. For the past 2 years at my own school O have been studying Spanish and Hispanic cultures. This is very important because the United States and Florida has many Spanish speakers
1. Abbington Youth Center is a not-for-profit organization, which provides three high-quality programs: Infants and Toddlers Program, Preschool Program, and After-School Program. Targets are children up to three-years old, three to five-years old, and five to seven-years old.
If I were to be accepted into the National Junior Honor Society, which is one of the highest honors that can be awarded, I would consider myself to be a very lucky person. Throughout my life, I've always considered myself as someone with good character and values.I've always prided myself in always doing the right thing and helping others. In addition, I view myself as a leader, not a follower. Being a leader comes naturally to me. I'm a leader amongst my friends and siblings. They always look up to me when they have a problem or when they need advice. I have a good standard education with an A average which will help me achieve my goals in the future.
Some teachers have crafted a new and diverse way of grading students. No longer do they give their students test and quizzes, instead they assign a capstone project that is supposedly a more supreme way of evaluating and grading a student. Our group has decided that this way of grading is fallacious. Students should not be defined by one extensive and stressful project. Many students would procrastinate and maybe even wait until the last available chance to complete the project.
It is unbelievable that this year is my last year in Charlestown High School. As I look back at the past three years, there were several poignant moments when I was struggling with my classes and would have given up trying to achieve my goals. But as a diligent student, I chose to endure those moments. And that is how I become an outstanding student today. National Honor Society honors students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Being nominated to become a member of the National Honor Society is a highly prestigious honor, and I am very grateful to be a candidate.
My personal quest for knowledge has been ongoing since the first day I picked up a science book. I have never been more interested in any subject. It truly spoke to me. At a college level, there is a magnitude of opportunities. I had the opportunity to participate in the Student Dissector program on campus in the Spring of 2015, I visited the Stanford Cadaver Lab with Biology Club this semester, and I traveled to see a talk by the world renowned American astrophysicist, cosmologist, author, and science communicator, Neil deGrasse Tyson.
I am very honored and proud to be considered as an applicant for the National Honor Society. I am aware that this is an honorable and distinguishable organization and that not everyone has such an opportunity. I believe that I would be a valuable and serviceable member to the Nation Honor Society organization at my school, Piedmont Community Charter School, as well as within the community.
My desire was to challenge myself and pursue my belief in life-long learning. And yes, the last eight weeks have definitely been a challenge intellectually in IDS 101. After the first two weeks of school, I seriously questioned why I would go back to school at fifty-one years of age for personal satisfaction. The days were long and I wasn’t sure I still had the self-discipline and determination that would be needed to finish. Over the last eight weeks, this class gave me numerous opportunities to hone my skills in critical thinking, research, and writing. This class has given me the necessary skills to continue toward completing my degree.
There’s certainly a learning curve to leadership and my style is a work in progress. I’ve gained a lot of experience during high school that I know will lead to success at a UC school. Being Vice President of Interact Club (a student version of Rotary Club) and managing 150 students has proved challenging. High schoolers tend to be hard to motivate and there are very few students who will go out of their way to help unless pushed. Learning to recognize people’s strengths, and encouraging them to participate in activities geared to those strengths, paid off when I ran the high school’s carnival event.
Paragraph 1: In order to develop the sight of the infant, the caretaker or the mother of the baby is advised to hold the infant close for them to study the differences on their faces --the dark pupils comparing them with the whites of the eyes.
