Justice, mercy, and humility, three of the characteristics that Malcolm said that are necessary for one to be a good king. These three are particularly important because to rule just and honestly a king needs to look at all things in a just manner and rule with mercy. Justice is also something that needs to be enforced by the just. The people of Scotland have a need of justice for the murder of their rightful king so when Macduff kills Macbeth, justice is served; Banquo’s son can finally have closure, Macduff’s family can rest in peace and all things are set aright. Mercy is a sign of strength. In the play, Macbeth shows no mercy for those who would dare oppose him and support the rightful ruler, Malcolm. He kills Macduff's’ family because
