1, INTRODUCTION Security plays a major role in business. The value security Department brings to organizations is enormous as the department works hard to avert losses, shield property and human assets. As organisations are hiring new employees, most are now conducting background investigations, so they can make a more sound judgment on each employee that is hired. Employers must keep in mind that they may be sued for defamation of character if they provide other employers negative or falsified information on a current or former employee. There are so many specific crimes that fall into the legal aspects of business. Implementing Security Plans/Policies It is the role / responsibility of the security department to formulate and implement a security plan and policies that will take in consideration the all factors of the organisation. Security Plan formulates how key Security-activities can be undertaken. In other words it should be the framework for achieving an organisation’s strategic business goals, objectives and A Security Plan is a subset of a Security Charter. It identifies the rules that will be followed to maintain the MSR (Referred to as Minimum Security Requirement) in an organization. The Plan will spell out specific details in all areas of Security Management. The detailed plan usually starts from Security Policies and then moves on into Policy Implementation Tools (PIT) like internal Standards, Procedures, Guidelines and Forms. Security Policies are made to support and achieve the core business objective/strategy. Human resource policies are developed based upon the issues whereas Security Policy’s are developed based upon the risks posed by various factors including the environment type of business just to name a few. It is vital for these Security Policies to work; they should be endorsed by the executive management. Endorsement will get the required force and momentum into these Policies that can then become the driving force for the uniform enforcement of security
