Were thinking of sneaking in there at 2:00am in the morning. We have to be careful so we don't wake up Mom. It's 2:00am so as we get ready and we put on our coats and walk out. Its 1998 were in the woods and it smells like rusted metal. All i can taste is dirt. Its very loud like an elephants stomp. As we try to sneak in we crawl on the ground and we past the guard. The guard almost woke up. “It's cold outside,” said my brother Shane. “Du it's snowing outside and the snow is bloody,” I say. So now we're in Shane and I start getting in the war. The had bows with arrous. Guns with bullets. Horses with saddles. Shane and I thought this was easy and fun. Well it wasn't. There beds were hard as rock. Now we're walking out with the herd of people that are still alive. I got shot in the side by one the arrous. But thanks to my Brother i'm ok now. It barely got me anyways. Just a small scratch that's all. 3 Years Later Shane and i are still ok. We think it's time to go home now. Shane is now 19 and I am now 16. We have no money. We need a job. Our Mom has probably had forgotten about us. But how are we ex post to get home. Its night time now. Were worried about going home
The Roman Empire was, overall, an immensely successful and innovative empire; this success derived from the implementation of the Christianity religion, spreading of Romanization so that Roman subjects were united and had Roman rights, and the economical and technological advancements that flourished under the period of Pax Romana. While these benefited the Roman Empire greatly and made Rome a prosperous civilization, Rome gradually weakened and, conclusively, fell. The eventual and definite decline of Rome was caused by excessive territorial expansion, economic issues, and foreign invasions.
VFW Post 9528 in Buckhead Ridge recently elected a new commander, and in doing so, became one of only seven posts in the state of Florida to ever elect a female commander. Patricia Yount is not only the first female commander of Post 9528, she is also the first in District 11, which includes Lake Placid, Fort Pierce, Jenson Beach, Vero Beach, Sebring, Stuart, Hobe Sound, Sebastian, and Okeechobee. The Veterans of Foreign Wars opened its membership to women in 1970, but men still outnumber women by a huge number. Commander Yount explains that her post has 313 members, and only four of those are female. She is working on ideas to attract more women, and hopes to implement them in the near future.
“This account I have given the reader, not so much with the intention of commending the Romans, as of comforting those that have been conquered by them, and for the deterring others from attempting innovations under their government. This discourse of the Roman military conduct may also perhaps be of use to such of the curious as are ignorant of it, and yet have a mind to know it.” –excerpt from “Description of the Roman Army,” by Josephus
The military prowess of Roman commanders and legionaries proved to be successful enough to turn a small community into an ancient super power. There are many discussions to be had about the tactics and success of the Roman army, some of which are: their style of fighting, the attitude toward the fight, and the fruits of their war.
Legionaries, the last line of defense and the emperor’s sword against the darkness of the night and yet, the same weapon used to strike out against the empires many enemies. While the American military is a shining example the American military's power. The detriment against all of America's many enemies, the weapon used to cut free the cancer of her enemies with lethal and deadly precision. The roman legion outposts and fortresses, the stepping stones that legionaries used to spring forward into the world and strike out at Rome's enemies. Scattered seemingly throughout the entire known world during the time, when Rome projected its power it was throughout the entire known world to see its glory. Forward Operating Bases small staging bases in remote locations that are used much in the same manner as legion bases, the American military's answer to the Roman outposts. Forward
Sicarii took Masada shortly after and raided the outlying villages for supplies. They were also responsible for raiding the city of Ein Gedi, killing 700 Roman men, women, and children.
The Roman army was the most powerful war machine of its time and arguably many others. It is this vast war machine that facilitated the Roman Empire and its creation. I call the Roman army a war machine because of the meticulous organization the army displayed, organization so thorough it mimics the individual cogs and gears in a machine working in perfect unison to achieve a common goal. The roman army was responsible for developing revolutionary fighting techniques which not only secured Rome’s position as the most powerful force in the world, but would influence the fighting styles of other armies for hundreds of years. But a machine so intricate and complex was not created in a day. It was through much trial and error and the test of time that the Roman army became the world power that we remember it as. I call the legions a world power because without the approval of the legions an emperor would be powerless. History documents show many Generals who already had the approval of their legions ascending to power, most notably Julius Caesar. So the Roman army was a very prominent military and political influence. Although the Roman army did not simply consist of soldiers and future politicians, it also included engineers. These engineers were responsible for the building of the roads that carried soldiers to and from battle, along with numerous military technologies that would influence the future of warfare. The Roman army’s history and the creation of new war
Many aspects of the United States of America can be traced back to roman history. One of these aspects is the main city. Rome was the main city of the Roman Empire and the population back then was once 1.2 million and growing. Just like in the United States there is N.Y. where it is very populated. It also shares the aspect of crime because in both cities it is dangerous to walk around in the streets because of the muggings and robberies that took place all over the cities.
First Consequences they had horrible consequences for example if you fell asleep on duty you would most likely be put to death. Next life in the army was dreadful. Since at 20 you had to go into the army and every soldier was a roman citizen. Next some soldiers were trained good enough they could fling rocks from slingshots,Able to shoot bows and be able to swim fast enough to swim up rivers and surprise attack the other army. Next the Roman Army attacked by lining up in a row with shields and then they all throw their spears at the army. Last about the army's armour. First the Army had a lot of parts to keep them protected the Helmet,Back Plate, Front plate, Greaves armor for the shins, and all of their armor was made out of metal and leather. Last Training the romans had a very complex training they had a big army so the army battle against each other with wood things like swords and shields. So in conclusion the grade I gave them fit the roman
The Green Berets or Greenies I saw them preparing for ambush and decided I would go out with them that night. I had covered myself in bush to blend in and carried the usual M-16 assault rifle, along with that i covered my face black with charcoal. I went on this ambush, just me and the six greenies. Nobody talks, nobody makes a sound, you just lay there. I know most people may think it was boring, but while i was out there i felt so alive. When it was time to go, we headed back to the bunkers. I told Mark i was tired and we would talk about it later, heading towards my bed. Mark yelled at me saying, “not later, NOW! Mary Anne!” He gave me a talk, telling me to get my act together, to act normal. He gave me some new rules. I washed my hair and dressed myself in the clothes i used to wear. Mark told me if we were to be engaged i could not go on anymore ambushes, “I honestly do not understand why you would like to go on an ambush with a bunch of Greenies, but no more.” he said. I agreed to the deal, for now. He did not understand, when i was out there it was so exciting, I felt like I was actually
The Roman Republic, as any society, embodied the greatness of what it means to be a republic, but like many empires suffered from imperfection. The city experienced some of the greatest architecture, art, entertainment, trade, law, language, culture, and governments, however it suffered from many wars, poverty, and cruelty. It was a city of extremes. Even through hardships the Ancient city of Rome achieved sophistication and opportunities, but was built on the enslavement of the neighboring tribes.
The military of the Roman Empire formed the group that held Rome together. They fought with steadfast courage, love for their country, and honor for their people. They overcame some of the deadliest battles, even when they were outnumbered tremendously.
Thankfully, due to the Romans writing a lot down, there are many sources (unlike in the "Dark Ages" for example) available to study how the Roman army worked. In this project, the aim is to find out how the training and organization of the
"The Most Dangerous Game", written by Richard Connell, is a very riveting story with two main characters Rainsford and General Zaroff. They have many similarities in their character traits. Their traits had a major impact in the story.
According to the ANA, Delegation is when a nurse who is responsible for nursing care delivery, transfers responsibility of a task to an LPN/ LVN or nursing assistive personnel while retaining accountability for a safe outcome (ANA, 2012).
