Rome has contributed a lot to the Mediterranean and more off the U.S and rest of the world. Rome started Democracy, a government in which the people elect a leader and people to represent them. The US has many things inspired by and very similar to Rome including, in Rome if a law seemed unfair than it could be set aside, in the US something can be ruled unconstitutional. The women's rights inspired by Rome sparked women's rights in the US.
Lets start off with roads. Now how amazing is it that Romans figured out how to make roads! They stretched for thousands of miles and made trade a million times easier. Trade and transportation are not the only things that were made effortless due to Roman roads, but also news was easier to spread to the people. Current events as well as news were posted at the intersections of the roads in order to spread the word to more people at a time. Roads first began in Rome, if we didn't have roads to this day, then we would not be able to drive cars long distances, we wouldn't be able to get to where we need to be. We see roads every single day of our lives, EVERYWHERE! Roads

I think the roman society was very good at meeting the common good wants and needs. They met it with little cost. Also they had government roles such as common defense public services protect rights promote rule of law
To start off, one invention from ancient Rome that still has an effect on the modern world is our Transportation system. Transportation is used a lot it is still used to today for importing and exporting. (doc. 3) Some of us would not even be able to get to school without transportation like roads or subways. I am going to New York. I cannot go if I don’t have transportation like a plane or car. If you did not have transportation you would have to work at home and life would not work properly. As you can see, the transportation system from ancient Rome is still needed in our world today.
During the rule of the Roman Empire advancements in health and medicine were beneficial to the growth of the Roman Empire. According to the author of ANCIENT ROME “Alexander Galen was the first to use a humans pulse to determine his patients’ ailment.” Alexander Galen was a doctor that lived and worked around 170 AD. One of the most famous medical textbooks to this date named “On Medicine” was written by Cornelius Celsus, a Roman nobleman. This extra knowledge helped the Roman Empire in many areas like their military, political stability, and even general health of the civilians. Another example of a help to the military is how the Roman Army established a medical aid to assist wounded and injured soldiers in battle. This most likely would have decreased the amount of soldier deaths because of how they not only could have saved troops that were in bad shape but they also would have sent more troops back out to assist the ones fighting. Another medical advantage the Roman Empire
First, Romans created a strong government where not just one branch had unlimited power. The Romans had strong leaders almost like the president and senators. For example, if one branch wanted to pass a law, all branches would vote to see if the law could last or not be a law at all. Even though the people of America vote, the Romans still influenced a lot of people.
As you can see, even though Rome finally collapsed and fell into ruins thousands of years ago, the great civilization still left its mark on modern day things we do everyday. From modern day art being influenced on Rome, to the idea of Law And Justice. Had Rome not existed thousands of years ago, we may not have the wonderful ideas and inventions we have in modern day today. Even though it is not here right now, you can look around and see all the things that Rome had “given” to
The Romans created a great and mighty empire. Their effects are still present today, such as the idea of citizenship and how to become one. One way they made people become citizens is by rewarding conquered people become citizens. Everyone except slaves were given some form of rights, even the lower classes. In addition, they did not exile their own citizens when they were too powerful, they just reorganized them.
The Roman Empire left a legacy that still continues to affect people with modern technology. The Romans’ technology might have not been as advanced as modern technology today, but they still managed to caused great impact over the ancient people. The Roman Empire’s inventions and innovations such as indoor plumbing, aqueducts, and construction of roads and buildings with their fast drying will always be notable attention because they managed to acquire extensive progress without modern methods. However, the Romans were not restricted to new inventions, they also managed to improve the existing fields of medicine, law, government and warfare.
