Bonds between People Who are Not Family In William Shakespeare’s play, Romeo and Juliet, Shakespeare shows that strong bonds can form between people who are not family by having the Nurse visit Romeo on the day he is to marry Juliet in order to see if Romeo is good for her. Juliet sends someone to find out the details of the wedding and it is revealed to be the Nurse when she asks, “Gentlemen, can any of you tell me where I/may find the young Romeo?” (II.iv.119-120). Juliet and Romeo’s relationship is forbidden and they will be punished if their parents found out. By sending the Nurse as her messenger, Juliet shows that she trusts the Nurse enough to tell her about Romeo and to not go to her employer, Lady Capulet, and tell her about the affair.
