Did Romeo and Juliet truly love each other or was it just two kids in lust ? Well, that's up to you to decide. But in most people's opinion they were two children that truly thought they were in love. There are many reasons why they were and there is evidence to prove it.
There are so many scenes that can prove they were in love. And both of them acted differently throughout all of the book. So that gives us many examples to choose from. Like when they first met or when Juliet killed herself, when Romeo drank poison. There are reasons like this that makes people believe that they were in love.
At the beginning of the book Romeo and Juliet find themselves at the Capulet’s mosque. This is where Romeo first sees Juliet and asks himself “What …show more content…

This shows that Juliet truly loves Romeo and wants to be with him because she misses him after his banishment. So she went to the friar for help and they came up with that plan. Even after their families intervention of the couple she still can not leave Romeo.
A good example is when Romeo and Juliet got married even though they knew they would get in trouble from their families because were feuding. This shows that they love each other because they didn't care about the consequences that could happen to them. They could have been banished by their families if they got married and they knew about it because the Montagues and the Capulets hate each other. Even with all of the disapprovals and intervention to try and keep Romeo and Juliet apart it drives them closer together and eventually into marriage.
And the most known reason is at the very end of the book when Juliet is asleep from the vial she drank. Romeo stands at Juliet's side and drinks the bottle and says “O true apothecary! Thy drugs are quick. Thus with a kiss I die” then kisses Juliet before he dies leaving Juliet to wake and see him dead next to her. Juliet responds to this by killing herself with Romeo's dagger “Yea, noise? then I'll be brief. O happy dagger!,This is thy sheath there rust,and let me die.” My opinion is that if two people are willing to die for each other it must be true love.
