Romeo and Juliet are both responsible for their own deaths. Romeo had fallen in love with a Capulet which is forbidden. This is where it started to all go wrong. After Juliet fell in love with Romeo they decided to get married the next day. After Juliet being forced to marry Paris she thought that there has to be another way. So, she went to Friar Lawrence for help. Once she arrived she explained herself and told him if he could not help she would kill herself. Friar Lawrence gave her a potion that would keep her sleeping for a while so that people would pass her has dead until Romeo would arrive. This meaning that Juliet took the potion at her own risks. Juliet could’ve died but it was only her fault for taking the potion because of her unsatisfactory
I believe Romeo and Juliet are responsible for their own death. First of all, when the Capulet’s were hosting a party, Romeo decided to invite himself without an invitation. This caused Romeo to be remembered by Tybalt, a member of the Capulet family. If Romeo didn’t go, he never would have met Juliet, and therefore never would have fallen in love. In my opinion, their relationship was deceitful from the beginning. Also, I believe that they took their relationship too fast. Over the course of a day, Romeo and Juliet met at the Capulet’s party, fell in love, and got married.
Some believe Romeo and Juliet are responsible for their own deaths but that is not the case. Romeo and Juliet did kill themselves but they killed themselves because someone banished Romeo and someone gave Juliet a potion to fake her death. They are wrong because Friar lawrence gave
There are four areas that contribute to the deaths of Romeo and Juliet. It is important to study the cultural and historical background in which the play is set as this affects how characters behave and interact with each other. Another factor is individual characters and how their personalities and behaviour contribute to the deaths of the two protagonists. Love and hate affects the characters and causes the deaths of Romeo and Juliet. Some people believe that the events in the play happened because of fate and that they happened for a reason; others may think that the events of the play happened just by chance. Therefore it is important to study all four of
In this play Romeo and Juliet are mostly responsible for their own death, Juliet is mostly responsible for Romeos death because when she pretended to be dead so that her family wouldn’t force her to marry Paris she did not till Romeo that she is not really dead and that she is just pretending to be dead because of her family. When Romeo heard the news about Juliet’s death he decided to take his life and Romeo killed himself only because Juliet forgot to tell him about her fake death act. “ well, Juliet, I will lie with thee tonight”(5,1,36) Romeo thought that Juliet is really dead so he bought a bottle of poison and drank it so he could be with Juliet.
In the story Romeo and Juliet, there were various causes for both their deaths. Romeo and Juliet’s deaths could have been prevented in many different ways. Multiple people were responsible for the death of Romeo and Juliet for different reasons. Romeo and Juliet themselves were also partially responsible for their own deaths. The most responsible for their deaths out of everyone else is Friar Lawrence. He was the only one who knew that Juliet would fake her death, giving her the potion and was responsible for making sure Romeo would know the plan.
Fate is a powerful thing, people see have fate in many movies such as Final Destination, where death is unstoppable. Every decision and action made by the characters can be fated by the universe. William Shakespeare clearly shows fate in this play Romeo and Juliet. Shakespeare uses foreshadowing to illustrate the idea of predetermined death. Others may say that the feud and Paris are responsible for the death of Romeo and Juliet but it’s clear that fate is responsible.
I believe Romeo and Juliet were responsible for their own deaths because they married each other knowing there would be massive complications, and the love they had for each other would bring Romeo and Juliet to kill themselves if one was to die. Act 5 Scene 3 line 120, “Thy drugs are quick. Thus with a kiss I die” (pg 1043). This shows how much Romeo cared for Juliet, he would kill himself because she was dead, which also shows how Romeo was responsible for his own death because it was his choice to kill himself or be killed from the death of Tybalt which he was responsible for, which still comes back to him and his own actions. Act 5 Scene 3 line 165-166 “Haply some poison yet doth hang on them
Romeo and Juliet is responsible for their own deaths. Romeo did make the choice to drink the poison. Juliet made the choice to stab herself and bleed out. It was in their hands. It all started when Romeo met Rosaline.
Unfortunately for them, not everything went right, and in effect, three people ended up dying. Juliet was in such a hurry for a plan, that she didn’t even stop to think for one second. When she went to Friar Laurence’s cell, she was extremely desperate for a plan. “Be not so long to speak. I long to die if what thou speak’st speak not of remedy.” (878) If she would have thought longer to consider all the options, she could have avoided such a risky, and fatal, plan. Finally, when Juliet “died”, Romeo went to Juliet’s tomb with the intention of dying; which ended up to be the outcome, too. Right after Balthasar told Romeo that Juliet was dead, he said, “I will hence tonight.” (895) If he would have taken more time to think about his options, he most likely would’ve gone to Friar Laurence’s cell for help and advice. In effect, he would’ve known the plan and no one would have had to die. In conclusion, a lot of other things could have been blamed for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet, but in the end, Romeo and Juliet should get the blame. Only if Romeo and Juliet had made different decisions, the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet would've never
The death of Romeo and Juliet was because of their parents. If the feud never happened Romeo and Juliet would never had to have had to keep their relationship a secret from their parents.
Love is the only force capable of turning enemies into friends(Martin Luther King Jr.).The tragic death of Romeo and Juliet was the combination of bad actions and mad love. Although there was many other characters that could be blamed for the death of Romeo and Juliet the three that have clear evidence are Lord Capulet, Tybalt, and finally Friar Lawrence.
The Classic play of “Romeo and Juliet” was written by William Shakespeare about two star-crossed lovers who met and fell in love. With the two’s families feuding, the lovers had a secret marriage but everything takes a turn for the worst when they both commit suicide because they feel life is not worth living without each other. At this time it was known as the renaissance time period which marks the beginning bridge between the middle ages and modern ages. The renaissance was a time when history was looked at as a time of greatness and that because of the fall of the Roman Empire, Europe had entered a time known as the “Dark Ages.” Shakespeare wrote many plays including “Romeo and Juliet” that had readers questioning his views of men and their
The play of Romeo and Juliet is different from William Shakespeare’s other tragedies in that there is not a clear distinction of individual heroes. The two protagonists are more passive than active; both are naïve and lacking understanding. The hero is often thought to be the romantic, yet often hysterical, Romeo. But Romeo’s immoral background, emotional outbursts, mishap murders, and foolish actions make him a poor candidate for a hero. Juliet proves to be more innocent than Romeo because she possesses more rigorous moral ethics. Juliet is also more successful in overcoming the obstacles that she is faced with throughout the play. While both characters

“Love always overcomes hate, but love’s effects and hate’s effects are no different in magnitude.” -Anonymous. No one ever doubts the power of love or the power of hate. For as long as time has existed people have loved and people have hated. Strong emotions persuade everyone to act on their inhibition. Everyone wants to be a hero in every situation whether it be trying to save someone or the simple act of finding a winning lottery ticket. These actions are what lead to love overcoming hate even if they are the simplest of acts. The mistake people make is them trying to hard to be the hero. This leads to one traveling great lengths to achieve their goals, but at what cost. Throughout Shakespeare’s most famous play, Romeo and Juliet, his main
