Ronald Reagan, A Great Citizen
Ronald Reagan was born on February 6th, 1911 to Nelle and John Reagan in Tampico Illinois. He attended high school at Dixon High School in Dixon, Illinois. Reagan attended college at Eureka College in Eureka, Illinois studying Economics and Sociology. He also played football, was captain for the swim team, and acted in many school plays for Eureka. After his graduation from college, Reagan became a WOC radio sports announcer in Davenport, Iowa. Soon after, he obtained a job as an actor for Hollywood, and he was on the road to his acting career appearing in 53 films. While Reagan was in office, he accomplished many great things. Some of Reagan’s great accomplishments include ending The Cold War, creating “Reaganomics”, strengthening and rebuilding the U.S. Armed Forces, nuclear weapon cuts, and made many tax reforms. Reagan was a great leader. He did many great things to improve our country.

Ronald Reagan was a good citizen to me, because he took pride in his country. Reagan turned our country around and led us to the best of his abilities. As Reagan said, “I am not a politician by profession. I am a citizen who decided I had to be personally involved in order to stand up for my own values and beliefs. My candidacy is based on my record, and for that matter, my entire life.” Reagan was saying that, in order to fulfill his duty of being a good citizen, he needed to step forward and stand up for his own beliefs. I believe that is what makes Regan such a great citizen, and leader.

My definition of an “ideal” citizen is when a person fulfills his or her duties and roles of being a citizen in your city, state, country, etc. This may be represented by being active and helpful in your community, being trustworthy and following rules and laws, respecting the rights and properties of people around you, taking responsibility of your actions, and being a responsible role model in your
