One of the concerns Ms. Roney shared during our Roundtable Meeting was all her salary is coming from Outpatient Services despite the fact she is the Clinical Director and providing services for MHSB. Her concerns were heard and to address this issue moving forward 25% of her salary will come from MHSB and the remaining 75% will come from Outpatient Services.
Margaret: The salary rates the business is presently paying for the individual position fall well within the wage cure at Grade 2 midpoint; however, she will be promoted to General / Operations Manager, Grade 2 with a pay increase of midpoint $ 95,161. She will manage all apartment buildings, to include the nine apartment buildings within the area (previously managed by Buzz), handles legal matters and resolving all escalated tenant complaints and evictions $6,400 a month.
Social Service Meeting: On 10/25/2016 Ms. Williams met with assigned Case Manager for the family weekly ILP Document Review. Ms. Williams’ next ILP Document Review appointment is on 11/01/2016. Ms. Williams is in-compliance with the terms of her ILP. Case Manager asked Ms. Williams if she has any issues or concerns that she would like to discuss during meeting. Ms. Williams stated no. Children were present at the time of the meeting.
In addition to your direct testimony there are two additional approaches to consider for input into the Rulemaking Committee. Both approaches involve the hospitals involvement with key stakeholders. Both approach would provide indirect input into the Committee but, both represent powerful voices.

The NRLC’s strategies to fulfill their goals are through education, legislation and political action. Within education, the committee uses research, pamphlets and other educational materials and leadership training to inform people on the need to protect lives. In order to properly effect legislation,, there are people who lobby for the causes, speaking to legislators on why to move forward with bills that would advance the organization’s mission. Thirdly, the committee, in any way it ca, sponsors political candidates who share their views on these issues.
In an attempt to learn what a thriving HIM department looks like, I and three of my classmates visited the offices of Diane Premeau, who holds an MBA, PHIA, CHP, and CHC, the HIM Director for O’Connor Hospital. Diane has been with O’Connor for approximately 10 years and she was an excellent source of information, was very energetic and was generous with her time. O’Connor is a non-profit hospital that has been in operation for over a 100 years. O’Connor is part of the Daughters of Charity Health System (DCHS). Earlier this year O’Connor hospital, a part of Verity Health announced a comprehensive revenue cycle management (RCM) agreement with Conifer Health Solutions.
Harvey Finley did a quick double take when he caught a glimpse of the figure representing Ms. Brannen’s salary on the year-end printout. A hurried call to payroll confirmed it. In order to be more efficient, each member of the health professional team needs to contribute to the treatment. Because the member in the team are from a different field, to reach the goal in final, and the members need to be trust, respect and collaboration. Firstly Maureen’s GP and other specialists need to provide a copy of the information which should include her health issues, disease history and medication to the hospital. During the interdisciplinary meeting, the doctor need to facilitate the meeting, and any other practitioners and nurses need to share their information about Maureen, and they need to make sure that don't miss out any information and not repeat the same idea which will waste time. I attended an Arizona Health Care Association (AZHCA) regulatory and quality meeting. The AZHCA is a non-profit professional association of skilled nursing facilities (SNF), assisted living centers (ALF), and businesses that represent the profession of long term care. It was formed to promote standards and ethics in the profession of long term health care, and to advocate quality care for nursing facility and assisted living residents. Their goal is to strengthen the ability of its member facilities to deliver quality care to meet the needs of Arizona’s elderly and disabled residents. They do this by working closely with federal and state agencies and community partners to develop, amend, and implement reasonable legislation, regulatory policies, and standards of care.
On July 18, 2017, I attended the City of Gulfport’s City Council Meeting. The council is made up of elected members of the community whose focus is the city’s goals, major projects and infrastructure improvements. The council makes decisions that range from community growth to land use to finances and strategic planning. Competencies demonstrated during the meeting were Competencies 3 and 5. Competency number 3 focuses on Advanced Human Rights and Social, Economic, and Environmental Justice. The meeting demonstrated knowledge of the ideas and concepts related to the notions of social justice, advocacy, leadership, social change, social support, social networks, and social capital consistent with a MSLC perspective. This competency was demonstrated by addressing community concerns by incorporating ideas of citizens and community leaders. Community leaders such as council members and the mayor provided support and clarification of city policies. The citizens advocated for changes in their community by bringing their issues to the city council for resolutions. Competency 5 focuses on Engaging in Policy Practice. This was demonstrated by advanced skills in social work practice including the ability to link theory, policy-practice, and research/ evaluation, and to employ leadership skills to demonstrate and promote such a linkage. The purpose of this meeting was to collaborate with area social workers from different agencies. The agencies that were present at the meeting was the MS Department of Child Protective Services (MDCPS), Southern Christian Services (SCS), MS Children’s Home Services, Youth Villages and Methodist Children’s Home Services. The importance of being a competent social worker and promoting healthy permanency plans for children in custody was the focus of the meeting. Dr. David Chandler, Executive Director of Mississippi Child Protective Services, led the meeting. Professionals in attendance were social workers, ranging from LSWs to LCSWs.
Twin Oaks Hospital in Lexington, Colorado is a 100-bed hospital with a staff of 350 employees that include over 200 nurses and 40 clerical and secretarial employees, the majority of which are women. Recently the staff has had some apprehension and discontent over pay levels. Lexington Memorial Hospital, a public facility near to Twin Oaks recently agreed to demands from their nursing and clerical staff to increase wages five percent. They further agreed to introduce a job evaluation program which would evaluate the nursing and secretarial jobs based on comparable worth and that results of the study would be utilized as the basis for any future pay adjustments.
