Everyday extraordinary events happen. Events of survival, overcoming great odds, sometimes luck and occasionally stories of great injustice. The story of Rubin 'Hurricane' Carter could defiantly be perceived as one of great injustice. It could also be perceived as a immensely manipulated story made popular due to the views of famous and important people. The most popular belief is the story showcased in the 1999 movie 'The Hurricane'. The film tells the story of an innocent carter, framed for the murder of three innocent white people and sentenced to jail for life only to be freed.
Upon viewing the film you are left believing that carter is a wonderful human being incapable of the murders. However the story of the real Rubin Carter has much to be desired. Many facts of the events remain the same, rarely are events changed completely , but much is left out or altered. This is achieved in the film by silencing significant people. The primary example of this is John Artis. John Artis was Rubin's alleged accomplice at the night of the shootings. John was mentioned maybe twice throughout the whole film even though he also allegedly committed the crimes. There are other examples of silencing. Other notable people silenced are; the victims families, the prosecuting lawyers and others officers involved in Rubin's arrest.

Marginalising is when someone is denied mainstream status. In the case of the hurricane people such as Rubins girlfriend, Lesra's family and even Della Pesca are all made to feel insignificant. If you put yourself into these peoples shoes the story of Rubin Carter could have being a whole lot
Many people are convinced that being a good person will lead to good things happening to them, basic karma, but this is not always true. The 21st century for America so far includes two major disasters, 9/11 and Hurricane Katrina. David Eggers documents the Zeitoun family’s struggles of the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in his book Zeitoun. Choosing specific details, Egger’s purpose is to juxtapose Zeitoun’s humanity before Katrina to the cruelty Zeitoun was given after, and how Americans should reflect on those disparities.
Bob Dylan's song, "The Hurricane" is a story communicated through song. It is a tribute
The scene in the novel where all the porno cinemas were bombed and burned to the ground was somewhat important in the fact that it showed to state of anarchy our country is in, in this novel. The movie neglected to use that scene in to the movie version of "The Pelican Brief." The burning down of the porno cinemas gave an example and showed how the "Underground Military" worked. This in a sense excluded them from the list of suspects do to there expert use of explosives. If they had indeed were the killers of the two Chief Justices they most likely would of stuck to there area of expertise, explosives.

Author’s Primary Claim and Summary of Main Points: R.J. Matson alludes in this cartoon that just as hurricanes hit the eastern coast, a “hurricane” of immigration policies, congress disagreement, and public backlash is about to hit the Whitehouse as President trump makes decisions regarding the DACA Program.
In this article Massingale highlights the lack of concern for the marginalized in America by comparing Hurricane Katrina to a similar hurricane in Cuba where different precautions were taken and no one died. Katrina on the other hand, killed at least 1,706 people most of which were poor, black, elderly, or otherwise disadvantaged in society. Massingale explains three factors that contribute to our country’s “cultured” indifference to the poor. The first is the idea that poverty is the fault of the poor. Since America is regarded as the “land of opportunity” those who do not thrive here are viewed as careless and lazy. The second factor is the value we place on material objects—the more you have the more you are worth. The third factor is how
I then interviewed Inmate Carter asking him what happened. Inmate Carter stated, “I was lying in bed when I was approached by Inmate Meyers. Inmate Meyers came up to my bunk and began pestering me to shower. I asked Inmate Carter what he said to Inmate Meyers. Inmate Carter stated, “And then I was punched in the face by Inmate Meyers. Inmate Carter also stated, “I then jumped off my bunk and began to fight him because he disrespected
Two drunken white men raped a young black girl, Tonya Hailey, who was walking from a small store where she bought groceries. When the news reached her father, Carl Lee Hailey, he went to their hearing, where he shot and killed the two men, while also wounding a police officer. Carl Lee hires a white attorney, Jake Brigance, to represent him in court. Many people and organizations, such as the Ku Klux Klan, tried to sabotage Brigance’s likelihood of winning the case. With the help of a liberal law student, Brigance successfully acquitted Carl Lee Hailey for the murders of the two rapists.
Although Rubin Carter also known as the “Hurricane” was discharged for the murder of three people in a bar, two men and one woman, there is overwhelming evidence to support the fact that Carter was, in fact, responsible for the crime of which he was acquitted. Rubin Cater was a professional boxer from 1961-1966 before getting accused of the murder. He was a poor student who got into fights often for being bullied for his speech impediment and was sooner or later expelled, he also stabbed a man for his watch when he was only 11 finally, was convicted twice of the same charges of the three victims that died inside a bar in Jersey.
MIAMI (AP) — Aid rushed in to hurricane-scarred Florida early Tuesday, residents began to dig out, and officials slowly pieced together the scope of Irma's vicious path of destruction across the peninsula.

The movie that was analyzed was "The Hurricane" starring Denzel Washington. The movie was based on a true story, which was about a boxer who was wrongfully accused for murders he did not commit. Rubin Carter had been a victim of racial prejudice since the age of 11. From that time on he had been haunted by the racial prejudice that would take most of his natural life away from him. At the age of fifty he ended up going to the Supreme courts to get his trial heard and at this time he was set free. This is a short summary leaving a lot to be unsaid, but I believe the portrayal will tell most of the story in itself.
The film's powerful message comes alive through its main actor's magnificent performances and the anger and frustration that they evoke. In particular, Denzel Washington proved this throughout the film with his representation of Rubin Carter. He is known for films and works such as: Glory, The Pelican Brief, Philadelphia, Courage Under Fire, and a new must-see release Remember the Titans. The Hurricane is no exception for his list of stellar performances. However, aside from Denzel Washington's stunning portrayal, the other actors are one-sided and faceless. Vincent Della Pesca (Dan Hedaya) establishes himself throughout the film as an evil presence with an insane desire to put Rubin behind bars. His motivation is left to the imagination of the audience. This antagonist appears to be self-motivated without any clear sense of
