My favorite football player of all time is Rudy Ruettigar. He was born August22, 1948 into a family of 3 to gain to 14. He worked his hardest to be the best in his family and achieve all his goals. Rudy is the last football player to be carried off the field. In Rudys Elementary years he always watched Notre Dame on T.V. In high school and college, he worked to become a better football player. In Rudys childhood, he was really small compared to everyone else.Eventhough he was small he still played football with him and his brothers would have a meeting spot for football.Since he was so small his brothers wouldn´t let him play on offense, but he could play defense. After football, Rudy would have his girlfriend over for dinner. During dinner Rudys family would watch tv and the only thing they would watch was Notre Dame Fighting Irish even if it was a rerun. Rudy watched Notre Dame so much he memorized what they would say at halftime. When he was in his room with his brothers he would go in his room and practice halftime talk. When Rudy was playing football just for fun …show more content…
Back in the 1960s a house would cost about $12,400. A couple of weeks after Rudy saying no to buying a house his girlfriend broke up with him. When Rudy's football season at Highschool was over he got to give one last tackle and it was on his coach. Not only was that one of his favorite tackles it was one to remember. Before Rudy went to college one of his friends that believed he would make it to Notre Dame got in an accident in front of his eyes. In the power plant that he worked in had a mess up and his friend didn't make it. Although there were good and bad parts that he went through in his high school life it gets even better in
As Rudy is growing older he realizes that his life isn’t going so great. He barely made it out of high school, and he notices that he’s not going to get anywhere in life if he keeps this up. Once he gets into college he sees that his dream job of being a Diesel Engineer is crushed. Rudy Puana decided to make the same exact mistakes he did in high school, he partied, never went to his classes, and he never studied for his tests and finals.
Rudy and Shawn's lives had major differences, but many aspects of their lives were the same. Not only did they both want to succeed at their goals and dreams, but they each wanted to become their own unique person and inspired many everyday people to do spectacular
Rick Riordan is a bestselling author. He has many influences on why he started writing. Riordan also bases many book on mythology and gods and their family. Riordan's distant style on how he writes, which separates him from other writers like Suzanne Collins. Many of Riordan's books are popular he has novels; but also has illustrations books. Riordan's books have great qualities and are very informational on the gods and mythical creatures. He gets very creative, which is another great quality. Riordan's books are very relatable if you remove the mythical creatures trying to kill everybody. Many ways to get information is reviewing already published books. Interpreting the writing also helps understand the writer. Understanding the main points
Rudy also tries to keep the rest of the family connected in any way he can. When Linda was alive and all of the grandkids still lived at home they would have biweekly family game nights. Kent, Jenni, Jordan and Danny, Lisa, Sydney, and Haley would all meet up at Rudy and Linda’s house to eat dinner and play games. Rudy would spend the whole day cooking, being sure to make all of the favorites, while Linda cleaned the house. Everyone would bring their favorite game and the group voted on what to play that night. Rudy was never a fan of playing the games but he loved cooking and watching his family spend time together laughing and having fun. After Linda died Sydney and Haley went off to college and Jordan got married and moved into her own house with her new husband. All of these things coupled with the fact that Rudy did not like playing games made having family game night harder. Losing his wife made Rudy all the more sure that family was the most important thing in his life and was determined to still spend time with his grandchildren. The first year or two was a little shaking but he finally turned family game night into family dinners. Whenever Sydney and Haley had a break from school he would be sure to invite everyone over for dinner and
Dennis L. Rader was born on March 9, 1945 in the unremarkable town of Wichita, Kansas. A member of four siblings, Rader was a quiet kid, smart, and was well-behaved by all accounts. His family was very religious, and from every aspect, young Dennis Rader was a normal, harmless kid. However, Dennis Rader had a dark secret. As admitted later in his life, Rader had a wild sexual fantasy of bondage, a young developing sadomasochist. He dreamed of tying up girls and having his way with them, but his desire for dominance was not entirely sexual. He admitted to killing cats and dogs by hanging them, and early in his teenage years he was caught by his mother. She was worried but just passed it off as boyhood curiosity. He learned to hide his fantasies
Rudy was never alone on this journey, as he had Pete, who was his best friend and the only one who believed in him. Pete gave Rudy a Notre Dame jacket for his twenty-second birthday. So when Pete dies, Rudy then realizes that this is the only and last time to follow his dream to play football for the Fighting Irish. So, on his journey he goes, being homeless and with no money. Rudy then meets Fortune, a stadium groundkeeper, whom he met on the football field and volunteers to work on the fields for free. Fortune then gives him a job for minimum wage. Rudy sneaks into Fortune’s office at night through a window. After some time, Fortune leaves a key and some blankets on the cot in his office. Fortune also gives Rudy some inspiration, when Rudy
Rev. David Reimann was 51 years old when he passed away on January 15, 2008. He was a faithful pastor at St. John Lutheran Church in Dublin, Ohio for 17 years. He was born on August 1, 1957 in Michigan. He grew up there and moved to Dublin in 1990. He graduated from Ludington High School, Michigan, and got his Bachelor’s degree from Concordia University, Ann Arbor. He then went to The University of Michigan School of Music to receive his master’s degree and then went to Concordia Seminary in St. Louis. Sonny was only 15, a freshman, and an easy target for bullies. They used to call him "string bean", "small shit", and "lanky". He couldn't help that he had a growth spurt the summer prior and that it made his already small frame smaller. He could handle the name calling or so he thought. They were relentless, in particular, Bobby Bianchi. He was a popular football player for his school and for some reason targeted Sonny nearly every day at the end of school.
As a parent explaining Rudy’s actions, I would tell him that your admiration for one athlete can be extremely exuberant but painting yourself his skin color in this time where prejudice of different people was very high, it clearly isn’t the smartest move. The itch in my heart is that it is morally wrong to paint yourself black and if you go that extreme with your admiration, Rudy can honestly be taken and have a higher chance to be killed by Nazi Germany.
“Sonny’s Blues” is a short story about a narrator who possesses inner conflict for control. In the beginning of the story, the narrator reads a newspaper stating that his brother, Sonny, has been arrested for drugs. This initiates the inner conflict that we identify within the narrator. The narrator does not wish to accept that his brother has done this. As he walks from the subway station he thinks, “It was not to be believed. . . And at the same time I couldn’t doubt it” (Mays, 93). Throughout the story, we watch the narrator struggle between how he views Sonny should live his life and how Sonny desires to live his own life.
Rudy’s perception of himself changed over the course of the book for the better. During chapter 3 Rudy was living a sloppy life; Rudy slept on couches, dried off with bath mats, and never washed his clothes. As a child growing up going through grade school, Rudy struggled to find pride. He was teased for his red hair as a little boy and to combat that he teased back. As time went on he made friends but went down a troubled path, paving the way to his procrastination, misbehavior, and bad grades. Rudy had little aspirations, and as Rudy says on page 53, “I was hell bent on going to diesel mechanic school after graduation.” As Rudy scraped by high school and got into UH Manoa through a special program his life continued in its downward trend
Rudy painted himself black to try to look more like Jesse and when he got caught he was “being Jesse Owens” and that was his only reason for him doing what he was doing (Zusak 58). Even though Rudy was taught that in that time Aryans were better than every other race he still like Jesse Owens and didn’t see him as a bad person and seen him as an idol that Rudy one day wanted to be. Even though society tried to separate people Rudy liked Jesse Owens because he could run fast. Also when he was told that Aryans were better than other “races” “but nothing was clear” and he didn’t know it was because he was Aryan (Zusak 61). All though he was being taught that being Jesse Owens was a bad thing he still didn’t get it.
He was a walk on, that through his persistence and hard work became a respected team member. Even though he did not have the skills as the other players, he was able to communicate what he could do by showing his assertiveness through his hard work and determination with every practice. A memorable scene of Rudy with the janitor, showed Rudy developing some self-awareness. Rudy told the janitor he was quitting the team after 2 years because he wasn’t allowed to dress with the team. The janitor pointed out that quitting would throw away 2 years of college and miss graduation.

Rouleaux (singular is rouleau) are stacks of red blood cells which form because of the unique discoid shape of the cells. The flat surface of the discoid RBCs give them a large surface area to make contact and stick to each other. They occur when the plasma protein concentration is high, and because of them the ESR is also increased. Rouleaux is a physiological phenomenon that takes places in normal blood under low-flow conditions or at stasis. The presence or increased concentrations of acute phase proteins, particularly fibrinogen, results in enhanced erythrocyte aggregation. Acute phase proteins, particularly fibrinogen, interact with sialic acid on the surface of RBCs to facilitate the formation of rouleaux. An increase in the ratio
