There are a number of important principles to think about when you are planning for healthy and safe environments or activities with children and young people. Most of these are common sense – just remember: everyone is an individual and may have particular needs. If you are clear about the following points it will become second nature to include safety in your planning.
I read the short story “The Bully, the Bullied, and the Bystander” written by Barbara Coloroso. I never pictured how bad bullying was until I read this book. What I liked about this book was how the author found a way to deal with people being bullied, the bullies and the bystanders. Also how she described every type of bullying and how to prevent them. It's a very inspirational book.

. I am interested in this topic because I feel like I can relate to the main character, Jodee and what she goes through. 3. The purpose of reading this book is to understand what it is like to be bullied, an outcast and the effects of getting picked on and shut out. It’s amazing to know that people can lose their freedom and their ability to be human if they don’t learn to protect certain things. An example is, people can lose happiness and fun. Montag says, “Happiness is important. Fun is everything. And yet I kept sitting there saying to myself, I’m not happy, I’m not happy” (Bradbury 82).
I believe that anyone who witnesses an atrocity, or an act of inhumanity, and does nothing to stop it, is just as guilty as the person committing the act, but in some cases you are not as guilty as the person committing the act. In the book Night, the germans who weren’t Nazis were just as guilty as the Nazis. They allowed for such cruel thing to happen. If the germans spoke out and went against it, then they wouldn’t be guilty. This could’ve stopped the Holocaust.
1.) Treat others the way you would like to be treated and with respect. In my opinion, this is one of the most abused and unused rule out there whenever it’s just basically common sense. You’re suppose to treat other the way you want to be treated and never put them down. If someone is of higher stature than you, address them as Sir or M’am, it’s just a sense of respect.
