Run Ballarat 100% OF EVERY REGISTRATION GOES STRAIGHT TO THE REDEVELOPMENT OF THE CHILDREN’S WARD AT BALLARAT BASE HOSPITAL. It’s almost time to put on your running shoes and support this wonderful local charity event that makes a difference. It is always refreshing to see so many of Ballarat’s population get behind such an amazing cause. More than 5,500 people participated in Run Ballarat last year. Run Ballarat has raised a massive $589,678 since the first event was held in 2012, all of which went straight towards the redevelopment of the Children’s Ward. The Children’s Ward has been running for the last 12 years and is in need of redevelopment and design to keep the ward providing the same excellent care in the future. The Children’s
To support our mission, donors gave over $1,000,000 this past year. We celebrated our first joint fundraising golf tournament with the Meals on Wheels programs of Chapel Hill/Carrboro and Durham in October 2014. This was a great opportunity to raise awareness in the Triangle for our three programs that collectively feed over 2,000 seniors every week day. An unfortunate blast of winter weather caused us to cancel our Fat Tuesday Gala, but we were able to turn the auction into a successful online event and we raised funds to purchase over 18,000 meals. Our Fat Tuesday Gala will return with even more exciting plans next year on February
Sean: That’s great. I was going to tell you that really anybody that you come in contact with that is community minded could help in some way. And we call it the three T's. It's time, talent and treasure. Given that the limit is $400 for this race, a lot of folks that even if they don't have a lot of money they can budget it out over the next you and make that happen. As we're talking about these folks, especially folks that have sat on boards that, are great. When you were involved with United Way, were you ever on the board of United Way?
When most people run up a hill, they slow down. When I see a hill, I speed up and say to myself: “I LOVE hills!” Of course, I don’t really mean it. Nobody’s fond of running up hills, especially on a violently hot day in the middle of August. I was taught this mantra by one of my Cross Country coaches, Kelly. If I don’t think that I can do something, the first thing I try is telling myself that I can. Mindset is about 75% of your performance in a race. I love to run because it makes me feel like I can do things that are impossible. When I get back from a five mile run in the pouring rain, I feel like everything is right with the world.
The Saint Jude Bike-a-thon was a fundraiser my high school’s JROTC program ran every year to raise money for Saint Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, a unique facility that primarily works to cure children with cancer. Unlike other hospitals, the majority of funding for St. Jude comes from generous donors. It costs $2 million to operate

"The non for profits that come out, the scout troops, the college organizations, the volunteer fire departments all rally around the event. It's just a nice way to give back," said Shelia Sutton, Wineglass Marathon Co-Director. Five years ago, the Wineglass Marathon began the tradition of giving back to the community. Since then, nearly $250,000 has been donated to local schools and organizations. This year's largest
Hello everyone! my friend Gabby Aranda along with a small group of us have created a gofundme to raise money to start up a non-profit organization to help women who are in need of health care. After creating the non-profit, which will be called For All Women, we are focusing on raising money for a clinic in Madison called Share the Health which is open about once per month and is a free women's clinic where physicians and residents volunteer their time to treat underprivileged women. Our overall goal is to allow the clinic to be open more often and therefore help more people in need. Click the link to read more about our plans and consider donating! Thanks so much!
Redkite holds a range of fun, professional and innovative events to raise funds for the children, young people and families they support. Redkite also offers the community to organize, hold or sponsor a fundraising event whether it’s a music concert or an art show, a team or personal challenge, a head shave and even a kite-making competition. One of the many large and popular events in which is run by a volunteer committee of young people working together to help raise money for Redkite, is the Sydney Color Ball Event. The Sydney Color Ball is like no other charity event, giving young professionals the opportunity to socialize and have a great night at a fun, sophisticated cocktail-style event. This is a no sit-down dinner; it’s a chance to light up the dance floor to live music, be waited on with substantial canapés and unlimited beer/wine, be caught up in a bidding frenzy on the silent auction, win raffles and door prizes and of course have a memorable night out with your friends, all while helping support Redkite. Redkite also offers support to young children with cancer through providing essential support including – education, counselling, career support and emotional support. It offers professional support through funding social workers in hospitals to offer real and practical assistance and counselling for families, when they need it the most. Redkite’s music therapy provides
We raise money that goes towards research for treatments against childhood diseases. My first year I was on the production and marketing committee. We documented important events leading up to the marathon and kept a live stream going through the whole thing as well. My second marathon I joined the hospitality committee. I aided in the search to find local restaurants that would donate food throughout that marathon. The day of the marathon I made sure all the dancers were properly accounted for and received any information they may need. We organized food deliveries and eating times for over 30 different restaurants and 2,000
Here in Perth, we are having new inner-city developments that everyone is looking forward to. These developments are fantastic and will bring more tourism and vibrancy to the Perth City. However, a problem that they have is the possibility of destroying the river through increasing turbidity, higher temperatures and more acidity. This is why Perth and its people need fifty million dollars, so that we can protect the Swan River while still being able to build new developments.

Did you know that when you're smoking it has 200 chemicals? Well I figured that out in the wonderful class of D.A.R.E! DARE has been a great experience for me because I met new friends and I thought I was the only one that was interested until I heard people talking about how good dare is at resses and that's when I found out I was not the only one some people thought it was silly and others really like it.
