The director of this film, Tom Tykwer also wrote the film. This fact really shows in the way that Tykwer had total creative control of both the raw material of the story itself and how it was portrayed on the big screen. For example, directly before the scene when the running sequence was to start again, the film slows down and fades into red. The scene primarily shows pillow talk between Manni and Lola but the fact that it is slowed and the dialogue is more emotional tells the audience that something is about to change. This adds to the story because it is repeated once more, allowing for a little bit of predictability towards the next action point of the film without being …show more content…

By being alienated and not included, outsiders are made to feel estranged and may suffer severe discrimination, which will affect them mentally, physically and psychologically. This will change the way they view the world and may alter their social and personal outlook on life. This is discussed through the short story of Raymond’s Run with the inclusion of the central characters Hazel and Raymond who are subject to exclusion and often made to feel estranged. Their pain is exemplified through the quote; ‘but people ain’t grateful, so now she hangs out with the new girl Gretchen and talks about me like a dog… and has a big mouth where Raymond is concerned’, as this exhibits the hostility and disaffection shown towards Hazel and her brother with

As the film ‘Run Lola Run’ has a multiform narrative structure, it is separated into three sections in which Lola is able to repeat her journey from the beginning. The repetition of the run in which we see the same scene three times is an example of how Lola's journey is similar to the likes of a video game. This works to emphasise the fact that her life can just be rewinded and restarted just like video games. Even though, in real life we cannot travel back it time, the repetition of the run sequence shows mistakes are fixed by going back to the root of the problem. In the western stratosphere, those human rights were achieved in the early 20th century, but in a lot of eastern countries the battle for the women is just beginning, or worse hasn't even started. Women in Afghanistan have been subject to heinous circumstances, even though their religion, Islam "demanded that men and women be equal before God,"(Qazi).
