On January 5, 1931, in Rogers, Texas Alvin and Lula Elizabeth Ailey gave birth to Alvin Ailey Jr. An African American choreographer/activist who founded the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. Edward Weston was born on March 24, 1886, in Highland Park, Illinois. He was an American Photographer; living and taking pictures in Chicago for the majority of his young life. At the age of 16, Weston was given his first camera, a Kodak Bulls-Eye number two, by his father. Weston furthered his school career at Illinois College of Photography in Effington, Illinois then later moved to California in the year 1906. Weston had four children with his first wife, Flora Chandler: Edward Chandler Weston, Theodore Brett Weston, Laurence Neil Weston and Cole Weston. He had then opened a portrait studio in Glendale, California. Shortly after the birth of his fourth son, he met Tina Modotti. This was the foundation of their long romantic relationship and photographic associations.

Fredrick J rose was born the 21 Sep 1831 in England. The first 4 years of Roses life was hearing until he developed scarlet fever that lead him to lose his hearing. In 1852 Rose moved from England to Australia were he decided he wanted to open an institution, at this point in time the need for a school for deaf children to attend was in a high demand as the government had not provided any schools to attend or provided any assistance towards educating the deaf children of the colony. Because of this Rose opened up a little school in Prahran allowing access to education for deaf children before 1866 were he officially opened “Victorian Deaf and Dumb Institution “now known as “The Victorian College for the Deaf” where he was elected the Headmaster.

W. Francis McBeth was born on March 9th 1933, to a family in Ropesville, Texas. At a very young age he took upon two instruments by the second grade: Piano and Trumpet. He was taught by his mother how to play piano and most likely carried those skills over with him to trumpet. In 1954, he received his Bachelor's degree in music from Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas. After that he studied at the University of Texas to get his Master’s then back to HSU for his Doctorate. He also studied at the Eastman School of Music in New York after graduating at HSU. McBeth was in the military band and played in the 101st Airborne Band at Fort Jackson. He later married Mary Sue White and had two children with her. Later in his life he was
