A Missouri Western student pitches an idea for an RSO focused on incentivizing volunteer hours for other RSOs on campus.
Brent Rosenauer, junior at MWSU, is the founder of Griffons Give Back, an office under the supervision of Shannon Meyer aimed at assisting Griffons in their search for volunteer opportunities. The new office is located in Blum in between the conference room and the International Students office.
“This RSO will give (the students at Missouri Western) a push to volunteer,” Rosenauer said.
His hope is to give students the opportunity to find various volunteer opportunities at the office, as well as a place that organizations across campus can log their hours for potential funding incentives. Rosenauer pitched the idea that the more volunteer hours an organization on campus

Guy explained that there are numerous budgets that the SGA has at their disposal to work with, including capital improvements and the co-sponsorship budget, among others. He said that the task is not impossible, but will take a couple of weeks to come up with a solution. President Guy said that students should expect to hear about the decision in the next two SGA meetings.
Guy noted that currently, the SGA has $9,500 to work with. This is down from the $20,000 they began with early in the semester, and the $9,500 will have to get them through the rest of the spring semester as well.

Volunteering, in minor or significant ways, taught me that I could make an impact in the world and along the way build my character, experience the world, and develop better communication skills. I learned this at my local library, Fumo Family Branch. I aspire to become a part of the National Honors Society because I want to network with my peers and people outside of the Academy at Palumbo, improve my character and leadership skills, and give back to my community. I strongly believe that I am a great candidate because I possess the four pillars of the National Honors Society: scholarship, character, leadership, and service.

A generous university benefactor has agreed to donate a large amount of money for student scholarships. The money can be provided in one lump sum of $12 million in Year 0 (the current year), or in parts, in which $7 million can be provided at the end of Year 1, and another $7 million can be provided at the end of Year 2.
Taking time to volunteer at the many nonprofit organizations, homeless shelters, advocacy centers, philanthropic fundraisers, local schools and child care facilities in the inner city is not always at the forefront of young people’s minds while navigating through their college experiences. But, with a little push from student organizations, local nonprofits and passionate individuals, volunteerism and community change can start to take a front seat and become not just an opportunity, but also a priority in the lives of young people.
As discussed at the February meeting, the QPSC meetings will begin at 7:30 am, instead of 8 am, and will end at 9:00 am.

The Annual Fund at Cal Poly Pomona plays a pivotal role in the advancement of our university. With our national economic crisis and massive state budget cuts, over the last seven years support from the state toward it’s universities has drastically decreased and now only accounts for one third of Cal Poly Pomona’s entire budget. The other two thirds university funds comes from tuition and private support. The Annual Fund is a segment of university advancement and consists of 34 student callers, a phonathon coordinator, assistant and Director of Leadership Annual Giving.

The website makes it easy for teens to give in ways they otherwise wouldn’t be able to. Volunteering is literally as easy as one, two three; one - sign up on the website, two - pick & tackle a campaign, and three - take a picture! Making volunteering this accessible to teens is a reason to donate and invest in the futures of both the young adults helping and those which they help.
As great as Brandeis University may seem to its prospective students, current students and administrators can provide valuable input pertaining to whether a school is meeting the goals it sets to achieve. “Jenny,” one of the community service specialists at Brandeis, is in charge of advising and supporting students engaged in community service opportunities within Brandeis and the Waltham community. Additionally, Jenny is in charge of the Waltham Group, a student-led community service organization that allows students to get involved in the Waltham community (“Waltham Group”, n.d.). Many of the initiatives through the Waltham Group assist students enrolled in the Waltham Public School District, where
In my five years of active volunteer work with multiple non-profit organizations, I have seen firsthand the lack of attendance of my peers in times of great community need and support from its members. Although it has become more complicated to find time to give back to the community, with a full-time school and work schedule, there is always spare time to give back. The rapidly growing demand for volunteers in communities all across America is increasing and it is everyone’s duty, especially college students, to pay their dues to the
