There are many other jobs that need to ensure Health and Safety is important and some of these are: landlords, contractors, emergency services, trade union representatives and consultants. They have to make sure Health and Safety is an important role whilst doing their job as they don’t just have to think about themselves and the people who work for them, they also have to consider the people who are putting their trust in them to help them.
I ensure staff are kept safe within their day to day work by ensuring that they work to Health and Safety Law and Legislation and that this is kept up to date. I ensure risk assessments are in place and reviewed regularly for any changes or updates. I ensure staff are all treated equally and are given the same choices.

I like that you mentioned patient’s safety on your post. Patient safety is such an important part of our health care system and it helps define quality health care. Keeping our patients safe is a challenging issue because errors can and do happen. As nurses we need to make sure we are taking all appropriate actions to limit the amount of mistakes that will put our patients at risk.

After reading through chapter five of our textbook, doing a bit of research and reminiscing my childhood days when my father was a proud member of a union; I have come to the conclusion that an individual can faithfully take on the role as the employee and union member. This commitment has been simply named as “dual commitment”, in which the employee is committed to both their employer and union, looking as if related to and connected to two items – First is a positive labor relations climate and second is individual differences; giving an appearance that a higher commitment to union and employer should be directly related to the involvement
