ABOUT ETIHAD AIRWAYS ETIHAD Airways, with its headquarters in Abu Dhabi, is the flag carrier of The United Arab Emirates, by royal decree issued by Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan. It began its operations in the November of 2003. It is The UAE’s leading airline, and also one of the best airlines in the World. The airline serves to 96 passenger and cargo destinations all over the globe, operating up to a thousand flights per week. It is the second largest airline in the UAE, after the EMIRATES, based in Dubai. The airlines launched its operations with services to Beirut. ETIHAD has a fleet size of 92 aircrafts at present. The airline gave the largest order in the history of commercial aviation at the Farnborough Airshow of 2008. The order was for 205 aircrafts.
