Lowe's is one of the biggest big box retailers in the world today. As a result, the company faces competition from various companies, both directly and indirectly. Two of Lowes’ biggest direct competitors include Home Depot and Wolseley PLC, both of which carry similar products in the home improvement category. Each of these retailer On the other hand, an indirect competitor of Lowe’s is any small construction/repair company. These smaller repair companies are classified as indirect competitors because Lowe’s is known as a retailer for “do-it-yourself” home improvement projects. If a repair company is hired to complete a service, Lowe’s is facing indirect competition.
Rangkuti (2005) stated that SWOT analysis is one method to describe and make a judgment the real situation, project or business concept is based on internal factors (inside) and external factors (outside) which are Strengths, Weakness, Opportunities and Threats. Hill, T. & Westbrook, R. (1997) also stressed that SWOT only supported dissecting the company's situation to determine where the business was standing, rather no function solved the problem ultimately.

The Urgent – Important Matrix timetable – By making a timetable where I plan what is important to do and what isn’t can facilitate in maximising my time and performance. This can enable me to prioritise what do to first and finish the task quickly before moving onto the one that isn’t urgent.
Businesses in the same industry compete against each other to meet their organization goals and sustain competitive advantage over one another. But to meet those goals, it’s important for businesses to analyze their internal and external environment to allow them to come up with new business strategies beneficial to the business. Firms can use SWOT as a starting point. SWOT is a basic technique that can be used by business owners to analyze their business and industry condition (Dess, G., Lumpkin G.T., Eisner, A., McNamara, G, 2013). Using SWOT will help business owners understand the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of their business. It would help them analyze and come up

The marketing concept is the viewpoint that trades should find out what the customers want and then make decisions to achieve those wants, better than the rivalry. Today most trades adopted the marketing concept, but this has not always been the situation. The process of doing so can be demonstrate in a sequence of stage: the situation is examined to categorise opportunities, the plan is expressed for a value scheme, planned decisions are mode, the strategy is implemented and the results are examined.
The guiding force in business today is the ability to adapt to ever changing markets and circumstances while staying competitive. Strategic planning is where each company starts. Airgas is an American company that has just been purchased by the European company, Air Laquide. We are going to develop a strategic plan to grow their business over the next three years. Our strategic planning process will look into the following areas which include company history, products, competitors; we will look at the current situation of the market and use a SWOT analysis to determine areas of opportunities. Finally we will look at a few areas of the SWOT analysis and gain a better understanding of why they were chosen and understand why they are essential to the strategic plan.
This article presents the outline of the research project, including the different sections and summary descriptions of the information contained in each section. Overall, the research comprises six different sections. These include the introduction, literature review, analysis approach, results, discussion, and conclusion. It is important that these sections are well knit to ensure a logical flow of ideas and clarity in the presentation of the research report. The following section shows the research outline.
Infosys is an IT consulting company based in India but primarily doing business with North American firms looking to outsource their IT needs. With the rise of the popularity in this form of business between the United States and India, there have been several political factors in both countries that will affect the way Infosys does business. In the US, President Obama made outsourcing a hot topic of his campaign platform. With speeches such as “Say no to Bangalore, yes to Buffalo” he is looking to provide incentives to American companies to keep all of their jobs on American soil, close tax loopholes and eliminate breaks given to companies that outsource to firms such as Infosys. On the flip side though, the US government is also looking to change immigration policies to restrict H-1B visas that would have previously allowed foreign skilled technical workers to be brought in to the US on work visas. While they won’t be eliminating them, they are seeking to restrict them which would force Infosys to hire employees from the US for any work they would be doing in the country and restricting the available talent pool. Meanwhile, the government in India is making changes of their own, particularly with reforming the tax code. To encourage the growth of the Software and Technology fields the Indian government had established significant tax breaks which are now coming to an end. In addition, they have
