Through out the story, the main theme that could eaisly be seen is to stay true to yourself and to not given in. For instance, Sage (Jaron), the main character of the story, is chosen along with three other boys to become a pretend prince Jaron, who supposedly died at sea four years ago. If he is the one chosen, then he gets to rule the kingdom of Carthya, but is forced to follow the wishes of the mastermind of the plan; regent Bevin Conner. However, instead of becoming the prince that Conner wants him to be, Sage stays defiant, stubborn, and makes sure that it is known that he is not Conner's puppet. For instance, when Conner steals a piece of imitator's gold from Sage, and Sage then steals it back, he refuses to give Conner the gold. Even
Theme is a fantastic way to analyze a book and to learn more about it and its idea. Both the book, The Giver, and the story, “Harrison Bergeron” attempt to achieve a perfect society in which people are undereducated and and brought down from what they could potentially be. The book and the short story both have several similar theme topics, one of which is rebellion. Rebellion is often found in an unequal part of the world, or place and is influenced by rage and contempt to accomplish equalness in society or government.
The theme in A Long Way Gone is hope. Ishmael Beah mention, “War doesn’t benefit anyone.” This book was its strength because Ishmael was able to stand up telling his story to the world.
The theme of this book is to be strong through the toughest times. This theme is shown throughout the book when Kira is the only one alive in her family, Anabella passes away, and even when Matt was lost. Another theme could be trust your instincts. Kira has all these thoughts about the council, Annabella, beasts and many more but she keeps them to herself. Day after day more thoughts pile up. If Kira were to trust herself, her life would have a greater quality. As you read more of the story the theme becomes a larger part of
The fiction “Recitatif” was written by Toni Morrison, which is a profound narrative and meant to invite and let the readers wondering to search for the buried connotation of the encountered experiences of the main characters, Twyla and Roberta faced as children and their reunion as an adults again. Some of the story’s meanings and values involving around friendship, race and abandonment began to emerge as the plot thickens, and also more additional messages got concealed and remain unrecognized until even the most last sentence of the story about Recitatif. From the very first paragraph of the story, there were few details that were not mentioned which required further deeper possibility and that produced the story extremely engaging for me.
There are four themes that come up during the movie. They are the four virtues: wisdom, temperance, justice and courage. According to Plato wisdom is to judge certain situations or even people relating to specific actions based on pass knowledge it is also assigned to rulers, in this case

Of several themes throughout the play the theme of self-awareness stands out the most. This theme not only relates to these three characters, but all the characters, aside from Froggy, can relate to the theme in some way.

As an example, making sacrifices for love is distinct in the actions of Alyss. She sacrifices her family, home, herself and even her memories. A character in the novel that sacrifices is Alyss.
think this is definitely a major theme because Andy not being himself, was the major reason that he got himself into that mess. in the text, its states that ``He was a Royal. There had been meaning to the title.`` this made me wonder, if Andy had loved the Royals, more than he loved Laura.another reason i also thought that it taught to be yourself, was because when Andy was dying, he kept thinking to himself, `` I want to die Andy`` he had realized that labels don’t define who you are. he realized that he should have been himself, not anyone or anything else. he had always been happy to be called a royal, but then, I think that he realized that being a royal wouldn't do anything for him now. I infer that even if he died, they probably wouldn't care, because they had better things to do, like killing others. but Andy finally realized that he was Andy, not ``royal``. he came to the truth to the point of which he went through extreme pain, to take his jacket, the very thing that caused this mess, off. finally, the last reason I think the text teaches us to be ourselves, is because of the police man. the police man proves that Andy should have not defined himself as a royal, because in the text, Andy had just died. Laura, his girlfriend,,found him dead. she ran to a nearby police, and he came and checked Andy, and said he was dead. now before he had died, Andy had thought ``He
In the episode “The Alamo” of “Timeless” by Eric Kripke, the characters travel back in time to the Alamo and express deeper emotions than that shown in previous episodes. By using the similarities of the settings, Kripke pushes Wyatt to compare the team’s desperate situation in the Alamo to that of his in Iraq. Additionally, the boxed in situation of the Alamo provides the opportunity to illustrate the efforts of mankind to overcome any adversity. Furthermore, this experience provides the opportunity for Wyatt, Lucy, and Rufus to examine leadership of those who fought in the Alamo with courage and strength. Ultimately, Kripke uses the setting of the inescapable Alamo to bring about the theme that hopelessness does not mean helplessness.
To begin with, one major theme that continuously played a part throughout the entire book is desire. To many of the characters, it was the one urge that they could never overcome. One
Throughout the play, powerful, old, and wise words lead to the plot and theme of The Tragedy of Julius Caesar. A leader that wants power at no cost will hide bad intentions in beautiful words. Words must not be trusted completely, for they lead to
A leaders determination and will to do something good can lead to doing unwanted things. The “principal” of a society might not plan on doing things to affect others, instead they try to do things to improve the society. But while doing so a person can cause serious harm. For example Oedipus the King, who was raised by a Shepherd and a queen, finds out that he was adopted. He also discovers that he had been cursed by a Sphinx. He knew that due to this curse his fate would lead him to marrying his mother and killing his father. Obviously this was not wanted so to avoid this from happening he travels to Thebes to try and conquer the Sphinx. On his way to Thebes he runs into trouble with this man and ends up killing him. When he arrives to Thebes he later becomes the hero and leader of the society for solving the riddle to the curse. He finds a beautiful girl named Jocasta, marries her, and even has four children with her. Later Oedipus realizes that Laius, the guy he had killed due to the road rage was his birth father and the lady whom he had married was his mother. This represents how a leaders determination can affect not only a society but a group of people while having good intentions.
Not taking anything for granted/being grateful for what is given to you is what I perceived to be the theme throughout the whole story. I would use it to teach my students to be grateful for what is in front of them and to not always be wishing for more. As Coraline states, “What kind of fun would it be if I just got everything I ever wanted?” As stated above, I believe this line shaped the true theme of the story in showing that we should be grateful for what we have and not continually thinking about what we don’t
