Same sex marriage, which is also referred to as gay marriages, are legal unions between persons that have the same gender identity or biological sex (Lahey & Alderson). Same sex marriage is way more accepted now, then it was back in the day. Even though some individuals now a days are dealing with same sex marriages and tolerating it. They are still some individuals out there that don’t think it is right because it is against their belief, ethnicity etc. Everybody has there on beliefs and opinions as regards to same sex marriage, some may be good some may be bad. Me being bisexually and being raised in a home where my parents where both lesbians, I don 't see anything wrong with it. I am all for same sex marriage and excited that same sex marriage is finally legal, yes same sex marriage may have its down fall but what don’t. We are still people and should not be treated any different from others. LGBT individuals should be given the same privileges as anyone else. Unlike many other people members of the LGBT community are being discriminated against everyday just because of their sexual orientation. LGBT individuals are not allowed to publicly celebrate their love, not only that LGBT people also face hate crimes on the daily bases. I personally believe that anyone who is disallowing certain rights to someone because of their sexual orientation, background, religion etc. is discriminating.
