The ever changing economies, technologies, wants, competitions, demands and supplies challenge all kinds of businesses today. Every country differs from another in terms of cultures, traditions, businesses, working styles and ethics. So to make oneself open and sensitive towards different people and work according to the environment and acceptability, this program was the best way to make me avid, insightful and maven.
I have a chance to meet people from all over the world, work in groups, understand everybody’s accent, culture and way of working and mould myself in every possible way. After having excelled in high school with 94%, I managed to get admission in one of the top 10 colleges in University of Delhi, but the need to learn more did not take a backseat. And here I am pursuing my masters in management from Lancaster University Management School. The alumni of the institute, its cultural blend of international students and its vast business associations will help me gain invaluable experience enabling me to realize my dream and vision.
Nearly one third of India’s population is backward socially, impecuniously and also educationally. The reasons are not hard to guess like poverty, illiteracy, less reach and no or little awareness. It pains me to see people who have the potential but not the means, people with will but without a way and people with vision but not enough resources. All this explicitly
Imagine how would our world be if all human beings had the same opportunities, a world where equity ruled our society. In this case, poverty will be extinguished. Unfortunately, there are still some countries where the wealth is very poorly distributed, and a great portion of the population is below the poverty line. Such is the case of India, an Asian country located in south-central part of the continent. One percent of the population in India holds close to half of the country’s wealth. The book The White Tiger, by Aravind Adiga, is a great novel where you can notice the things that people who are poor, must go through and how difficult it is. It is so rigid to get
Intensively but also with a lot of fun, the last nearly one month’s learning journey on Organizational Culture and Communication is a totally refreshing experience for me. At this moment, I still cannot believe I have been in New Zealand for one month. Recalling the brand new life here at homestay, the study in the University of Waikato with more than 80 classmates I never meet before from different countries and background, and the last week’s A Night before Christmas outdoor event along with around 20,000 locals, etc. I am so overwhelmed and I realize what I am experiencing is just the application of what I learned from this course. Before this learning journey, I assumed it would not be that challenging and I could do it without so much effort. But the reality gives me a lesson that always being humble. Contrary to the education in China, the approach of teaching, the volume of reading, the demand for self-study, and the effort to be made is much more, which is beyond my expectations. Through all these diversified lectures, assignments, role-play and case study, my cognition about organisation have been keeping evolved. All the knowledge and skills I learned during this learning process have affected and will influence me since I embark my life, study and career here in New Zealand. To be more specified, this unique experience of taking this MBM paper will facilitate my adaptation and integration into this culturally and ethnically diverse country, as well as my career
“An investment in knowledge pays the best interest,” once said by Benjamin Franklin, is a quote that is very important to me. If educational opportunities are taken seriously, the knowledge gained is invaluable. Throughout my years at Darlington High School, I have been very focused on my college education, including being a part of the Youth Options program at the University of Wisconsin - Platteville.

I am a businesswoman who built a company within a third-world or developing country. Life in countries as these is arduous enough as is, but to be a person endeavoring to run a business, especially a woman, is an arduous task of another order. Despite and even because of the challenges I have faced, I have overcome and become a more resilient and effective professional. My professional experience in this developing country is additionally a relevant and modern perspective to have within the study body at XXX University as well as within the management program specifically. Many professionals are returning to school to deepen their perspective, widen their skill set, and update their knowledge for the 21st century with 21st century methods. I am one of these following entering this trend or practice. I am applying for admission because I know I am skilled and am an asset,
From my personal perspective, the participation of the work involved a reconsideration of my own identity and purpose, and the classification through of the different dimensions of my life. The key determination of setting personal objectives and defining one’s outcomes is the personality and self-image which is of paramount of important to be aware of.
Business 561 08/29/2015 Jasmine Montgomery Master of Business Administration: Healthcare Management When it comes to making business deals, one must do their research and gather not only information on the company, but their perspective on the matter. To say the least, this decision cannot be made in one night. My professor presented in the course a case study pertaining to business ethics. In this particular case study, it examined a recent graduated named Ramonda Alexander that needs to be advise on whether or not sign a contract with the company Next Step Herbal Health. Miss Ramonda decision would need a spiritual and ethical perspective to make the right decision. As we know, in life, what is best for one individual may not be best for
India is one of the top five economic empires in the world, however, despite having 17.5% of the world 's population, it also has 20.6% share of the world 's poor (cite from wikipedia find real source). This means that upwards of 50% of Indian citizens are living below the poverty line, and struggling to meet even their most basic needs. This poverty has been long researched and discussed, as many political figures and anthropologists, such as Akhil Gupta are attempting to find a solution. Akhil Gupta is an accomplished anthropologist and current professor at the University of California, Los Angeles, where his research focuses on the development and the state. These themes are present in his novel, Red Tape: The Bureaucracy, Structural Violence and Poverty in India where he discusses his theory that the relation between the state and the poor is due to structural violence. Gupta comments that “the fundamental question that [will be] raised in this book is why a state dedicated to development appears to be incapable of doing more to combat the violence of chronic poverty” (279). As a whole, the text centers around Gupta attempting to come to an understanding as to why, in the world’s fourth largest economy, there is such persistent and prevalent poverty. He estimates that this poverty results in the deaths of up to two million individuals, especially women and lower-caste figures. His argument develops into the theory that poverty is structural violence, which he defines as
Business. Travelling the world. My dream. As young child, I have always been passionate about business and travelling the world. I would love to study International Business with Management at University. This course is perfect for me as I have a hobby of travelling as I have travelled to America, Singapore, India, Italy, Switzerland, Germany and France. All throughout my travels there, I would always see different business types and almost the same management styles, and that made me think, what if there is a theory behind this? During A-level, I learnt the different theories such as Taylorism. Throughout my younger years, I learnt the language of Punjabi and in year 7, I took my GCSE and achieved a grade B. I also started to learn the language of German for 4 years but stopped before GCSE as I chose to study my favourite subject, business studies. I am passionate about business studies and knew that after GCSE I had to study A-level Business studies to ensure that I would have the correct knowledge to be
Two things at the beginning of this course surprised me. First one is the team working idea which I have not never exercised such thing befeore, we were divided into small groups in order to achieve appointed goals and the second surprise is the diversity amongst students in regard their subjects. There are students in human resource others in international management, ,general management and me with other in public service. Although all these mentioned above were seemed odds and buzzling at the beginning of this course, I realised afterwards that a significant values added to my knowledge due to that. For example, I have Ai have got significant improvement in the communication skills as well as exposed to different culture. Therefore, I was led practically to explore and experience multicultural. Since September, 2013 I have been utilising MOOCs to build and undertake my own postgraduate education. I have gradually unified all of this learning and practice into what I have termed an MTA – Masters of Transdisciplinary Application – portfolio. My MTA portfolio has the exact same thinking as the No-Pay MBA initiative, it is a self-directed endeavour built from mostly free online courses; as well as being composed of self-directed creative projects and industry work placements, which are all being collected together into a transparent portfolio website. However, opposed to just being focused solely on Business Administration, I have expanded my portfolio to be more broadly concerned with the additional focuses of Global Citizenship and Mass Communications.
The country of India has been home to some of the brightest and most influential people to ever walk this planet. However, they are still an ever evolving and developing country finding its footing in establishing themselves as a global power as well as developing internally. Many domestic problem exist, having grown and evolved from the foundation of India. Their issues consist of gender inequality, religious intolerance, economics, international relations, as well as corruption. Those are only some of the many problems which they face. As with many developing countries, India has a predominant issue when it comes to poverty. In August of 1947, Jawaharlal Nehru, the country’s first prime minister, wrote the national document, “A Tryst with Destiny”. In the document he states, “The future beckons to us. Whither do we go and what shall be our endeavor?...to fight and end poverty and ignorance and disease and inequality of opportunity...which will ensure justice and fullness of life to every man and woman.” To put the idea in perspective, it was written sixty-eight years ago at a transitional point in the countries history when they were granted freedom and independence from the oppressive rule of Great Britain. In this address, Nehru set forth his rule with many lofty goals that have yet to come to fruition. While it can’t have been expected that all these goal would be fulfilled, Nehru showed the country where they need to go in order to prosper into a great nation. This was
