The ethos of Southwestern Christian University is a wonderful blend of academia and solid Christian influence. Southwestern Christian University (hereafter referred to as SCU) unapologetically advances its "vision for a Christian liberal arts education pursued from the perspective of the Biblical Christian worldview" (Wenyika). In a world "swamped" with education that has been secularized to the point of "Godlessness", SCU stands as a beam of light shining through the darkness to educate and encourage students to be excellent both in Godly character and in daily living. As an online student of SCU, I am honored to be a "torchbearer" among those like myself who have chosen to make Jesus the "Lord" over both, life and education.
I would like to be considered for admission to this Colorado Christian University because I believe that it will be a perfect fit for me. I will have the opportunity to receive a degree and strengthen myself in the Word of God. For many years, I have been interested in studying Psychology. My interest in pursuing this field stems from many factors, but the number one reason will be my love for people. I consider myself to be big hearted and a compassionate person. God has blessed me with a caring spirit. I have love for people and I desire to be a helping hand to as many people I can reach. For many years I have found myself working with foster children or taking care of those who needed caregiver assistance and I want to go further. I believe

Gary United Methodist Church is a small congregation of less than fifty members with an average worship attendance of ten or less. The congregational leaders, known as the administrative council, are looking for ways to increase attendance, which has been dwindling over the last few decades, and find new ways to engage in mission work in their small northern Minnesota community of less than 3,000. A decrease in employment opportunities over the last thirty years and the shutdown of two major employers in the town have led to the mass exiting of families with children. The town has several properties that are either condemned or dilapidated. Recently their schools combined with a neighboring town to offset the lack of enrollment and suspend the closing of both sets of schools.

In todays society addiction is a common thing for people to suffer. Addiction is not only physical things that people consume, such as drugs and alcohol, but may include virtually anything from food to gambling. People with addictions do not have any control over their bodies and their actions. According to Christian Nordqvist, “Addiction, often referred to as dependency often leads to tolerance - the addicted person needs larger and more regular amounts of whatever they are addicted to in order to receive the same effect (Nordqvist, 2009, para. 10). Family members who have to deal with addiction patients report heightened stress and psychological morbidity (Lee, Manning, Wong, et al, 2011). Studies show that these people suffered from depression, stress, and psychiatric morbidity, and overall poor well-being. By living a God-centered life addicts will have the possible means to a solution to their problems. There was a study done where addicts did a Christian Faith-Based Recovery program. The addicts were asked to acknowledge God and were then aware of their self in relation to God. The next step of the process was communication with God. They asked God to help them and therefore acknowledged God. According to Shirley
Evangelhouse Christian Academy is a private, parent-choice therapeutic boarding school for girls. You could say it’s more than a school, it’s a place for troubled teens. Located in St. Martinville, LA and includes 25 acres of beautiful scenery, the young Christian girls who attend will have a wonderful place to become rooted, grow and mature into the young women they should be, not delinquent.
1A. Although this case can easily be argued either way, I believe that the court should rule against the Grace Church of Devoted Followers. This case echoes Wisconsin v Yoder (406 U.S. 205). In Yoder, a group of Amish people refused to comply with compulsory attendance once their children reached high school age. The reason for that is because the Amish believe that high school will provide a more “worldly” culture for their kids; this directly goes against their core religious beliefs because Amish society emphasizes a “life of goodness” rather than intellect. The Amish do not object to education in the eighth grade on down, because they recognize the necessity for basic education.
The first strategic objective I chose is “honor Christ and share the love of Christ on campus and around the world.” (Colorado Christian University Strategic Objectives, n.d.) I chose this one because I believe that during both classes I have taken we have been given the opportunity to do so during our discussion assignments. During these assignments we are expressing kindness and the love of God in our sharing and responses. The Christian worldview point regarding a man is created in God’s image supports this best when it states that “Also, if man is created in God’s image, than all people are worthy of respect and honor.” (What are some essentials of a Christian Worldview?).
Our group decided to discuss the expense of college tuition at Salt Lake Community College. Once we had our questions started, we began the reflecting thinking process to come up with a solution. In the reflecting thinking process, we defined a problem that we found needed to be solved. We analyzed the problem then we came up with specific criteria. Then we came up with possible solutions and then calculated our solutions with said criteria. After going through those steps, we then came up with the most qualified solution. We decided to come up with the way of reimbursement to help lower the tuition prices at Salt Lake Community
