San Pedro de Rocas is a former monastery and church of Catholic worship located in Rocas parish at the Esgos town in Ourense (Galicia, Spain). It is Galicia's most ancient monastic site and the only one preserving part of the original structure, some artificial caves dug into the rock that served as a chapel and a medieval church header. A unique example of a cave church excavated under Mount Barbeirón. San Pedro de Rocas origin dates before the year 573, as in an inscription found on a tombstone in the monastery church (it is currently in the Provincial Archaeological Museum of Ourense); five names in this monument (Eufrásio, Eusanio, Quinedio, Eatio, and Flavio) received some form of inheritance related to evangelising Martin de Braga (aka
