Sao Paulo is a megalopoly, has around 19 million inhabitants, with its mobility issues around 7 million cars and poor public transport infrastructure. The real estate speculation made the city grow with hardly any urban planning and very few and far apart parks. Green areas were seen and reserved to leisure time and not a necessary part for the city – the lack of contact with nature and it is evident there.
The fact is almost no-one know there is urban agriculture in Sao Paulo, even with its many problems few initiatives are dotted around the city. The difference there is, while in developed countries urban farming is somewhat seen as a new "back to nature" trend, in developing countries and places like Sao Paulo this trend goes beyond that: it provides a vital source of nutrition and revitalization of an area.

So, Jose decided to become a urban farmer. And that is when local NGO Cidades sem Fome (Cities without hunger) comes to help future urban farmers obtain legal protections to establish productive growing spaces in vacant or underused lots. With a help of his wife, Jose started his plantation on the unused land under the electricity pylons crossing his neighborhood in the East side of Sao Paulo, one of the poorest areas. As well as providing extra nutrition for his family, Jose makes around R$ 700 to R$ 1200 (include dollars) with the sale of his
My favorite athlete is Trevor Brazil, for many of you who don’t know him, he is a professional athlete in the sport of rodeo. The first poster shows a mother and a child who are embracing with a photo of an Australian soldier in the background- the father of the child. The text says “God bless daddy” (as if the child were saying it). It then reads “45,000 Australian fathers are fighting!” and finishing off with a rhetorical question to involve the viewer: “Will you help?”
College athletics is a big time money maker for universities. Universities sell memorabilia, tickets to games, and great tailgating gear. The games are also aired on television were millions of people watch. Universities bring in tons of revenue every year, but where does it go? Not to the stars of the show. Athletes work hard to make their schools proud, but work so hard on their athletic skills; they have no time to actually work for extra money. Because college athletes have no time to support themselves, the school they attend should provide additional funding.

In his article, “Setting the table for Urban Agriculture,” accredited writer, Michael Pollan, expounds upon Urban Agriculture and it’s place in the twenty-first century. Pollan’s purpose is to explain to readers the legal and societal context of Urban Agriculture. He uses a serious tone and real world examples in order to solidify the idea that Urban Agriculture is an integral part of our “local, regional, national, and global” food infrastructure.
Favelas are where approximately 11.4 of the 190 million of Brazils’ population resides. Favelas are typically built when squatters (a person who unlawfully occupies an uninhabited building or unused land) occupy vacant land at the edge of a city and construct shacks of salvaged or stolen materials. These areas are known to be areas with crime and extreme poverty; the people who live there are socially outcasted and are usually ignored by upper class citizens. These areas are home to the people who cannot afford to live in cities like Rio de Jainero or São Paolo, because of the raising housing costs. The heavily populated areas lack infrastructure, so citizens are forced to improvise plumbing and electricity. It is easy to provide these
Portugal claimed the land of Brazil in the year 1500. Independence was declared in 1822.

Rio de Janerio, Brazil has been a place I’ve wanted to visit since I was little. The idea of traveling to a place as spirited as Rio makes me ecstatic. The culture in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil seems diverse and special in its own way. Carnival has to be the most anticipated and entertaining event of the year and it'd be amazing if I’d experience it. Rio has many historic places that’d I love to see. I want to travel to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil because I’m interested in the culture, I want to experience Carnival and sight-see.
Curitiba’s favelas are different than others in the Brazil and around the world since the government helps to aid in the building. While the people use anything they find to build their house, a purchased lot comes with an hour with an architect downtown. This helps the houses to be planned beforehand and to be a higher quality when they are finished. Since the homeowners build the houses themselves, they take great pride in their homes (McKibben, 1998, p 294). The city also aids the poor with food in a different way since a slum dweller may turn in a bag of garbage in exchange for a bag of food. The city is helping to make better lives by making a better environment for the people (McKibben, 1998, p

Somber and earthly tones are used for the painting to emphasize the humble and low life of peasants.
You recently had asked me to find the risk assessment about Sao Paulo and this is what I have found. I believe you and the rest of my co-workers will enjoy it there but there are certain places in Sao Paulo that are still dangerous especially in the day time while if you and the Thomson Reuters team travel to the Central areas in Sao Paulo it is very dangerous at night. I needed to inform you that the crime rates have decreased since 2011 but the level of crime is very high calculating to 86.30%, also armed robberies are very common. Crime does indeed continues to be the ultimate threats to visitors. The Central Sao Paolo is safe in the day time but be aware that pickpocketing often happens at Praca de Se when you are either
