First off, Jimi Hendrix was the most passionate musician of the 1960’s generation. Additionally, Jimi Hendrix top ten songs made it into the Rock and Roll hall of Fame, later on in his career. Thus, Hendrix had become a musician that symbolized the year of the 1960’s. Finally, he had the most emotional connection to his written music that one of his most important ones was inspired by a dream and was based off what he believed, was what saved him out of the Purple Haze was his faith in god. In conclusion, Jimi Hendrix is was the most passionate songwriter of the 1960’s generation.

Kurt Cobain; one of the most famous and influential musicians in the history of rock and roll - more specifically, Grunge. Being a member of Nirvana, the most prominent band in the history of the genre isn’t the only accomplishment of the late, great musician though as he also won many awards. Kurt Cobain had an interesting upbringing, successful musical career, and a life that ended with a sudden death.

Loud, soothing, meaningful, and deep, rock music has many characteristics. These characteristics are ones that rock music fans appreciate. But, many people have different preferences of music, such as pop, rap, country, and other genres. Although there are several types of music, most modern music comes back to the foundation of rock and roll. Many artists have been influenced by the heart-wrenching power of rock music. Most people that enjoy rock music do not know how rock started. It is a genre that has evolved over the years.

Elvis “The King” Presley has always been a popular musical artist since the 1950’s. His music was striving and is still popular today. From the start he was bound to become a musician. His music had created its own type of genre which is why it is so unique. Even from the grave he is still known for not only his songs, but the conspiracies surrounding him and his death. Rock ‘N’ Roll’s birth came after the Great Depression and World War II. It was in the 50’s called the baby boomers that started it all. It expanded the teenage population with 3.4 million babies born. The 1950’s scrap the ideology of a conservative family, where the father is the bread winner and the mother was a stay home mother. The young adults found an escape and enjoyment in Rock ‘N’ Roll.

In 1951, Alan Freed, a European American disc jockey for a Cleveland radio station, first coined the term rock’n roll. Fifty years later, if you were to poll the general public on which race would dominate that genre of music, the response would be overwhelmingly whites. But rock’n roll is not a white mans music. African American’s were and still are an essential cornerstone of the genre known as rock’n roll. But rock’n roll simply would not exist if it weren't for African Americans. Their presence is felt in almost every genre of music known to the United States. Early twentieth century black musicians helped shape, influence and create my favorite genre of music today.
