“All effort - even failed effort - produces muscle” is a quote from the book Do Hard Things by Alex and Brett Harris. Alex and Brett are twin brothers who started their mission in 2005 as sixteen year olds with nothing to do all summer vacation. Their father helped them fill this time of nothing with an intense reading project, designed and assigned by himself. Once they started reading they realized that these books were not regular books teens would decide to read. There were no horror stories or mysteries that needed solving, no pretty girls falling in love or finding a family for the first time.

Do Hard Things, by Alex and Brett Harris, is a book about teenagers exceeding society’s low expectations for them. In chapter one, the brothers lead off with how this book is not your average teen book, and how our youth generation is in need of a change. The brothers started their own blog in the summer of 2005. The boy's blog was called “The Rebelution” which is revolution and rebellion combined, and is defined as, “A teenage rebellion against low expectations.” The boys first posted on their blog about The Myth of Adolescence, and how they felt that teenage years had turned into a vacation from responsibility.
First of all, I want to tell you that this the most retarded book I've ever read in my entire eighteen years of being alive. Not only did I spend hours after working and going to school trying to read this book so I could do this report. It was really hard to stay intact to a book that doesn't make much sense anyways much less at 11:30 PM at night.
