From Kwajalein Atoll where he was based with the 7th Air Force, he flew his first mission on April 17, 1944. This mission, to bomb the Japanese island of Saipan, would be one he would never forget. It was a combined operation of army and navy units flying B-24s and its navy version, PB4Ys. Returning from the target, Julio’s plane begin “escort- ing” a damaged navy bomber, and for the next 25 minutes, they man- aged to repel a swarm of enemy fighters attacking the two stragglers. As the ball turret gunner, Sgt Diaz shared credit for shooting down a Zero and credited with a probable for another. After a long flight, the navy plane was able to return to its base but the army plane was not so fortu- nate. Suffering heavy damage and running out of fuel, they were forced to ditch in rough seas about 280 miles short of their base.
Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman, who has twice escaped from prison, is used to being around danger. Little did Mr. El Chapo know, his admiration for a certain woman would get him caught and once again sent back to prison. Kate del Castillo, an American and Mexican actress, was meeting with the fugitive drug trafficker and the actor Sean Penn; who apparently met with El Chapo in the jungle for a Rolling Stones magazine article. During the magazine article interview Guzman bragged how he had supplied, “more heroin, methamphetamine, cocaine and marijuana than anybody else in the world.”
In Leon R. Kass article L'chaim and its Limits:Why not Immortality? one argument that Kass presents is that; If we are mortal we are “aware of [our] mortality... [and we are] moved to make beautiful artifacts...objects [that their] order will be immune to decay as their maker… [will] not.” While immortals are the opposite, if we are immortal then we do not have the strive to make “beautiful artifacts”. Therefore concluding that if we are mortal we need to make things that will last as our legacy, while immortals do not have to do so. However, that is not the case.
Sor Juana Ines De la Cruz was a well-known nun who gained prestige challenging the misogynistic and patriarchal male dominance in her writings. Although Sor Juana was able to take advantage of her prestige and liberation as a nun there were still obstacles that she encountered challenging the systematic oppression she, along with many woman, faced in Mexico during the 17th century. As much freedom as she enjoyed to be able to indulge in books and knowledge Sor Juana was aware of her limitations and boundaries in the misogynistic society she lived in. She understood that she faced two great limitations when it came to being a writer and speaking out against oppressive behaviors. Her two limitations were being a woman and being born out of wedlock. Rather than look at the limitations that caused Sor Juana to address issues of women being educated and having equality as submissive and passive I choose to analyze her actions as rebellion and a witty adaptation to address the issues she wanted to address all while avoiding persecution during the 17th century in Mexico. Although Sor Juana found witty ways to challenge the misogynistic structure of the church and society she was unable to escape criticisms. Sor Juana was able to find ways to challenge the status quo and argue that woman should be educated because it was necessity to life itself and to be able to understand the Bible.

With any genre (old or new) that experiences a boost in popularity, there comes a certain lack of originality after a while. Post-CHVRCHES, Future Islands, and Twin Shadow, there aren’t many rising synthpop acts that exhibit similar originality. Thomas Arsenault’s Mas Ysa project is a refreshingly and genuinely unique one, and that’s at the heart of why Seraph, his debut album, is so good - Arsenault takes synthpop’s established aesthetic and turns it on its side, all while injecting intimate emotional power into it. It’s a remarkably unique album to make, but one that seems so simple and personal. Mas Ysa has made one of the year’s better debut records; there certainly won’t be one so assured in its originality.

The fear of change is inherent to human psychology, an encumbrance that, for most, takes decades of experience and introspection to shed. Among all generalities, however, are exceptions; in this instance, the exception lay idly in a hot Nebraskan turf field awaiting the sharp crack of the starter’s gun. His glassy eyes gazed lazily into the sparsely clouded blue sky, flickering for a moment with a glimmer of contentedness as a smile briefly touched his lips. The clap of the starting gun snapped him out of his trance, as the roar of the spectators called him back to the reality of his current life and home.
Hi, Amanda! First, I'm sorry for the ridiculously slow response to your email. In Summer I stay clear of the computer and email as much as possible. I appreciate and admire your early enthusiasm for the philosophy course. Your curiosity is certainly justified since, as you may have noticed, philosophy is given little chance to speak for itself in the K-12 education system. So for most students it really is a new occasion for asking questions and trying to think straight about big questions. Philosophy is a practice of patient thinking. That is probably its chief characteristic, along with others like logic and creativity. Have a look at this short essay by Simon Critchley and let me know what you
Relevant to the role of content editor and marketing, I recognise that artist, brands and award programmes respectively, are searching for ways to expand their global scope of their brands as well as growing their digital audiences throughout key social networks. The instant availability of music content and visual digital content on social platforms provide artist with greater opportunity to reach audiences. The trend of ‘freebies’ and direct artist-to-fan communication is a powerful marketing tool; stints involving artists giving gifts to fans, including supporters in music videos, having exclusive performances where the artist is in arms reach of the fans are examples of this.
