Over 20 years ago, the FBI searched for a serial killer who was killing numerous women across three different states. But how would the FBI find this person? The more they read in to the case, the victims, and how the crime was committed it became more obvious who was behind these horrific crimes. Eventually the FBI arrested Ted Bundy for the murder of over 30 women. Each one has a different motive which causes the victims and the crime to be different, but what about their brain chemistry. In many cases, it has been found that many murderers have a distinctive personality and some form of mental illness, it be post-traumatic stress disorder from childhood abuse or a severe form of Schizophrenia. Schizophrenia is a disease that causes characterized by hallucinations (auditory, visual, olfactory, or tactile) and delusions. Throughout history these people where assumed to be possessed by demons and feared by the community. A very large percentage of serial killers have schizophrenia. With the large leaps in the medical field we can diagnose schizophrenia and begin treatment before the person hurts anybody. David Gonzalez, a convicted serial killer who was a diagnosed schizophrenic went on a 3-day killing spree and killed 4 people. Different personalities and mental illness effect people differently may help professionals detect killers before a major disaster. Also, it may be genetic in many families because of genes that develop more and more over time. Serial Killers may be more predictable than other types of killers because of their mental health. Another way a serial killer may be caught or predicted is through family genes and ancestry. A violent gene in distant family can help predict violent people. This paper and information is not meant to scary people or to make people stereotype a group of humans, it is meant for people interested in brain chemistry and to teach them something
