I am so excited about attending SCTCC next year for the Associates Degree in CNC/Advanced manufacturing. The $2500 scholarship would benefit me greatly as I do not qualify for traditional aid, but also do not have parents who can afford to pay very much for my college costs. Along with being a Jayhawk Journalist, I have Bipolar Disorder. Managing school, work, and mental health has been quite the challenge throughout my college career. My college experience has been incredible with all of the people I have met and concepts explored while at KU. However, the cost has taken a toll. With this scholarship, I would hope I could work less and focus more on my studies, take some time to get more active on campus, or find an internship related to my career interests. I currently take out loans and my parents takes out loans as well to finance my education. I also have an on-campus job to help out as well.
